This has been a shocking thread to read. I had no idea regular paper plate usage was this ubiquitous. Does this make me classy?

It has convinced me that more people than logic would suggest feel compelled to get out of the shower when they have to pee....damnedest thing I ever heard of...I bet they also only piss in the sink when there ain't no dishes in it.....

This is why they make double sinks

Yes. It saves water from washing dishes so it’s better for the environment
Exactly. We use plastic disposable plates too because they are stronger and won't sag. Just toss them in the trash to save water and I'm doing my part for the environment.

Nah, we've got 2 dogs. I just put the dishes on the floor, and in minutes everything is sparkling clean.

paper plates and paper towels are an enormous waste. we do use paper towels but I toss them in the compost bin after use.

takes just a minute to wash dishes and no we do not own a dishwasher

There's a word for people who enjoy pissing other people off.

We call them "Monty Python"

If people using paper plates pisses you off, you have much much deeper issues that need addressed.

This thread is fascinating. I read the question and thought this was a dumb question because no person would eat off paper plates. I am astonished by how many do. Paper plates to me are outdoor eating only for BBQ and get togethers.

Same.

I can't remember the last time we bought paper plates/cups.

We just take the 10-15 minutes 2-3 times a day and wash dishes by hand. It's not that big of a deal.

Yes. Kind of surprising. Thought it'd be a small group, but seems pretty popular.

+1

I really didn't expect the responses to be what they are. Paper plates seem wasteful and expensive.

I eat breakfast, lunch and snacks off of paper plates. The only meal I really don't use it for is dinner, and it depends on what we are having.

some guy posted a few pages back and said it didn't make sense to use real plates because his kids didn't really eat meals, they just snacked all day
