Do you discuss politics, religion and love?

How open are you about topics such as politics, religion and your love life in the workplace, with your friends, or on social media? Do you ever initiate conversations about these topics? Do you engage them if they are brought up by others or try to brush them off without saying much?

Always know your audience.

Anonymously online? Sure. Never in public or on social media.

The people who are most vocal about politics and religion at work or on Facebook are not usually the ones who can have a calm, rational discussion about it without being offended

True.
Most of them are preaching to the choir too. After all, what’s more courageous than an Alabamian sharing how much they love Jesus, Trump, guns and condemn abortion?

Yup, it is usually just empty virtue signaling.

Not with strangers, even wife and I can’t hardly discuss politics. She’s extremely conservative and I’m conservative but more center of the line. Even though she’s very right wing overall she isn’t too political as in talking about it or keeping up with it much, just when the subject comes up on occasion I know her views.
We are religious so yes we do discuss that. I don’t discuss religion much overall, kinda keep that to myself and kids. As far as love, I guess we discuss that as in telling each other we love each other.
As far as friends and coworkers, or strangers, I pretty much only discuss hunting, work, and sports

Politics and Religion - hardly, and I try to brush it off.
Love life - occasionally,

I work with many very intelligent yet diverse people. Intelligent people who are rational can discuss differences of option and their reason for being. People who like to argue about such things in a loud and heated manner are usually not rational.

Politics - love talking politics with certain company. I don't talk it at work or at most family functions. My Twitter is filled with politics, but not Facebook. I haven't made a post of any kind on Facebook in 3 or 4 years though.
Religion - only talk it with open minded people that don't get easily offended. Living in Alabama, that's not very often on that topic. I'm agnostic with atheist leanings, but do go to church(Episcopal) because it makes the wife and kids happy.
Love - of course.

This is discussed ad nauseam everywhere. I get tired of hearing about it.

Keep my discussions brief. I’ m not trying to convert anyone. Nor do I want to be lectured to. We’ll likely end up agreeing To disagree anyway.

Naw, I’m not a teenage girl.

Only time I can think I’ve ever became heated in a irl discussion was with my wife about Iraq war. She still thinks we were correct in going in there and I have always opposed it. We cut the conversation off pretty quick though lol. Other than that only on here, even then it’s only on the bashing Louisiana threads or Saints talk. Irl I never get heated about sports as far as discussing it, and less than I use to during the actual games. 2011 49ers playoff game broke me, plus winning a SB took the monkey off the back

Zilch, zero, nada.
Too many leftists around. I would be in serious danger of losing my job if I wore a MAGA hat.

Politics, a couple of friends at work. But they're cool and it's always a decent discussion.
I keep my home life away from everyone, except those at home.
Social media, I just share my photos.

Politics and religion is about all I talk about on Facebook.

Politics can start a fight....Religion’s hard to know who’s right....

I try to share the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ with as many people as possible. I share the news and if the person doesn't want to talk about it then I leave it at that and go on my merry way.

Yes
No politicians care about you. Only what power you can give them.
Organized religion is fine for those who need it, but not everyone needs it.
True love is the best thing that any of us can hope to find.

To me, politics and religion are no-go topics, especially when trying to talk to someone with a different opinion. You'll likely never change their stance and they surely won't change mine.
As for love, that is reserved for those close enough to me that I feel comfortable discussing it, and that is a very short list. I like my privacy and don't care to put my business on the streets.
