Yes, there are two circumstances when I'll do it:
When I'm getting paid to work from home(vacation doesn't qualify)
When it benefits me.
Otherwise(and this is 99.9% of the time), no.

Only if I'm expecting something.

My job can be a pretty sweet gig in that we are paid well and have extraordinarily flexible hours. Always have been able to do a lot from home even before Covid. I may have very little to do for weeks at a time. But if I get an email requesting something in the middle of dinner, I better get on it. Now usually a call is made when there are important things to attend to, so I don't have to stare at the phone waiting for emails, but I can't just always let things wait until "work hours". My industry moves 24/7 so I'm expected to not be the reason it comes to a hault.

Of course. Most modern businesses/professional services utilize up to date servers with VPN.
You do know what VPN stands for? (Not a snarky question)

Why not create a free gmail account instead?
Never use a "free" email account for anything important.
It's best to use a service that you actually pay for such as the one your ISP provides.

I work from home, but yes, I have it on my phone and will check it in the evenings since we have clients in other time zones. I would only go to my office to work on something if it simply couldn't wait till the next day though.

I'm the a-hole sending the emails at 7:30. I deal with 4 shifts and a headcount over 1000, so it is not out of the norm. I also send pics of your people doing stupid people shite on weekends, but then some people have weekends on Wednesday. Somewhere in all that, I still have a life and you will too, soon as you get your shite together.

Sometimes, even at lunch I often check. If only to get a sneak peak of the shithousery I'm about to walk back into. Rather from time off, lunch as I stated, or from the weekend.

Yep...our operation is a 24/7 365 business...the email sent Monday at 9 PM is just as important as the one at 9 AM...traders and blenders don't sleep.

Yes But I own the company so...

Hell, no. Work is work, and home is home.

The goal is, unless I'm working from home during my work hours, I don't want to be checking Teams or my work email.
On Sundays, I find myself checking my work email to look at my Outlook Calendar coming up and see if any important emails have rolled in before Monday and I do occasionally find myself doing work outside of business hours, which I really ought to stop. I'm just trying to get ahead on occasion to lessen the workload the upcoming business day, but it's a dangerous precedent to be working outside of business hours because it can become a pattern.
