If this is a simulation then you'd expect bugs, server reboots, or patch updates.

Haven't seen any

You missed the point. How is being led to believe that huge numbers of people died there or in the Holocaust supposed to be a blissful simulation? Especially for those whose simulations included family members?

Those atrocities only happen in real life, not in a simulation

The simulation discussion is interesting, until you realize that there has been a lot of real life bad stuff over the years.

Its not necessarily supposed to be blissful,

it's supposed to teach about choices and consequences.

Define “real life” in the setting of what is being proposed

The philosopher who made the theory popular make the following arguement

A very advanced society will either:

Develop sufficient computing power to advance society into a post human phase or

Die off prior to reaching that stage

Since we are here make a debate, we can assume it is not the latter (unless we have not reached extinction in base reality yet)

If we go with the former, than we get into debating wether a very advanced post human society has progressed to make VR and simulations indistinguishable from reality. If so, they would likely create “ancestor simulations”. The philosophers make a mathematical argument that we are much more likely to be in a simulated reality instead of the original base reality.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nij1M8Brd00: Rewatch the movie “ Vanilla Sky” . It may make more sense to some now

To further complicate things, we are close to developing realistic VR/Simulations in our reality. We get into an “Inception” meets the “The Matrix” paradigm of simulations within simulations.

Phillip K Dick plays with these themes a bunch. Check out Amazon series about his work and Black Mirror - Bandersnatch

Subtle things: Fortnite is wildly popular (simulation in a simulation). Spray paint is a theme (reference Dick’s novel Ubik)

No. It's the reality that the Deity constructed in order to experience sensation.

You ever walk into a room and instantly forget what you walked in that room to do?

Yep. That’s the higher being canceling your current action.

color is just light hitting the prism in our eyes, so in reality, everything may be granite colored

No. But why would it matter if we were? It seems real to me.

The shade of blue sky I see is not exactly the same as the one anyone else sees.
Not only different shades, but we could see totally different colors. Like one of us might see the world as the other sees a film negative, and neither of us could ever know.

So , I could be a simulation simulating myself on various computer games.

I don't think so, with all the heartache just in my personal life multiplied by 7.5 billion , that would have to be one sick minded creator.
