AI is scary and sketchy.
I want nothing to do with it. It will be the end of society....
It’s essentially the core antagonistic dynamic between management and labor.
Management is trying to get the most production they can while paying the least. And, by my Ken, it’s an unwise strategy. You’ll end up losing your best workers because a good worker knows his value, and if manage...
That's a hobby. Photography is mine, it ain't work.
5 years after we leave our current jobs, we will all be replaced by someone who can do it as well regardless of what we think.
I'm self-employed, and I really cannot lose my job unless I hire someone to do my work....
That’s neat but I think you are missing the point.
I'm not missing the point at all. China is sketchy. I try not to buy anything made in China, which is difficult. I'm generally successful except for a few food and herb items that only come from China.

re: 17 year old spoiled brat on Dr. Phil.

Dr. Phil and similar shows are just awful. Even though most of the shows are set ups, it really highlights the worst elements of society.
Most of the "guests" on those shows are nasty....

Work is so overrated.
It depends on what type of work. I practice the piano almost every day for at least an hour, which is work - but I also enjoy it....
If I can work enough to make a good income, put some money in the bank, take care of all my needs in a manner - I'd rather use that extra time for hobbies like trying to figure out to play golf, reading, fishing, writing, I'm a happier person (I don't work a set work xxx hours a week schedule...

The better you are at what you do, the lazier it enables you to be - one of the wondrous things about efficiency
If you are so efficient that you can do more in fewer hours, why would you not fill that time up with more work?

I do grow some herbs. I have no issue with Chinese medicinal herbs as long as I can vet them out....

I would not use any medicine that was made in either India or China.
I'm in good health and rarely take any medicine.
Herbs are the way to go for basic health.
80% is a very scary number....
re: What album have you listened to the most/longest?
Posted by scimitar on 10/2/19 at 11:02 am
I started listening to Stone Temple Pilots "Tiny Music" when I was about 12. I listen to it as much as any other album I have (I swiped my first copy from Dad).
Second place would be Tchaikovsky: Symphonies Nos 4-6 by the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra.
I also like the Beethoven and Brahm...

Halloween and Mardi Gras parties are my favorite....

The simulation discussion is interesting, until you realize that there has been a lot of real life bad stuff over the years....
