I am not sure, part of me thinks when we die it will be just like it was before we were born. Nothing, but I think that idea does scare a lot of people. We all want to believe there is more after this life and through religions we are told there is. The bible tells us there is, but the bible was written a few hundred years after Jesus had supposedly died which I think that alone raises a few questions.

People decided what scriptures would be and wouldn't be in the bible. Jews believe Jesus hasn't ever been to Earth and will one day visit. There are other religion with different views. Muslims believe Jesus was just an apostle so why are there these different interpretations? Wars have been fought over religions.

While I am Catholic, I have my own views and think there is a lot of information to question and because of that it makes difficult for me to say "there is absolutely an afterlife" or "there is no way there is an afterlife". I think that if you a life not doing bad shite and helping others, without being gullible, then you will be good if there is an afterlife. I don't think a god will be pissed if someone looks at everything and questions if there is a god. It would be petty for him to be like "you did good shite, but fool.. You didn't 100% believe in me. Go to hell. Tell satan your bullshite. Your soul will burn forever with murderers and kiddie touchers".

On a side note. What if someone is real racist and when they die god sends them to a world filled with people who are the race they really don't life and they would be the only person of their race in this world and those people they have to live among are all stereotypical of that race.

Or like if you are straight, but will be sent to hell and when you die. If you a straight man there would be no women. Every now and then you would see what appears as a women, you are led to believe its a woman but you don't find out until its too late that its a tranny.

This is the kind of shite that I think about sometimes.

As a former nonbeliever I used to think there’s no way there’s an afterlife or God fairy tale land type thing. I had a close friend and his wife pray for me when I needed it and those prayers were answered. I then started researching evidence for God and I think people are too egotistical to think we can understand and figure out everything there is to know. I don’t think our brains are able to comprehend what God really is, how He operates, and what happens to our souls and consciousness when we die amongst a million other things.
We will all die and I believe we will join God and I think it’ll be beauty and love where time does not exist or make sense. It brings me peace to think about

100% yes. I've had a couple of experiences that proved it to me.

Why don’t you explain to us why the universe is fine tuned to have matter and life exist at all. I already know you are going to say “the multiverse”. Well please show us your evidence for “the multiverse”.

I’ll help you, there is zero concrete evidence of a multiverse. It’s just as much of a faith statement as a belief in god.

“The multiverse” is SCIENCE of the gaps.

I rest my case

What was your case exactly and who said anything at all about a multiverse?

Yes, I believe in an afterlife. No, I don’t believe we had before lives.

I think it’s more likely than not that we and the universe were created. If something has enough power to serve as the catalyst for all creation, it must be immaterial as well as eternal. Given all the physical and moral evidence, I find Jesus Christ to be Lord.

So you believe its just nothingness after death? No thought, sight, hearing, smell or feel for all eternity? What is eternity? If someone who died doesnt have any of those senses, then how do the deceased experience 'eternity'?

Well, they don’t. Doesn’t mean time stops and the universe disappears, but for that person it’s over. No sight, hearing, etc for them because they’re dead. Brain stops functioning so the neurons that made them “them” isn’t there anymore

Only to skeptics, schemers, occultists and mystics; Irrelevant as to the veracity of accounts, events, and testimony.

That's a certain self-serving narrative.

An Omnipotent Almighty decided exactly which words would comprise His Scripture and the Gospel message. Contrary to skeptics' confusion, lack of faith and wishful thinking, our Lord did not yield power to man (or Satan for that matter) to alter His words one iota. BELIEVE and TRUST IT.

They are all allowed to be deceived and deluded by God. They seek not Truth but satisfying their own collective god-complex. (see 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 )

As to your own personal speculation and intellectualizing about exactly where "God sends who," that's what Judgement Day is about.
We are ALL considered dead in the flesh. There are no "good" or Holy." Unless we personally reach out to and receive Jesus' hand and accept His blood to make us "clean" or "sinless" through Him. (No church can save us or mediate on our behalf.)

What obstacle would stop opening your heart to Jesus? We are made whole and perfect in His Kingdom, in perfect love and harmony. Forever.

Revelation 21:4 promises that God will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain, as the former things will have passed away.

Parable on 'The Greatest in the Kingdom'

Jesus invited a little child to stand among them.
“Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.…"
~ Matthew 18:2-4

I prefer to ponder consciousness and its nature to thinking about magically promised religious land thereafter.

But, to be fair to the question, I have gone back and forth on this like most wrestle subconsciously... I think i wrestle with it more consciously than the avg Joe.

I have thought yes, and I have thought no. And when I do, I tend to full-send my thoughts in one direction to feel that conflict fully.

Now im in my mid 40s, and my curremt position is that I am hopeful, but not faithful about the hereafter. I get more faithful when I consider the true nature of consciousness.

You could say the universe came about without design. No god. And yet, through OUR eyes, it itself became SELF AWARE.

That is every bit as miraculous and insane as the concept of an Almighty creator beyond. Well, it is to me anyway.

So, now, I am leaning for the first time with my toe in the [faithful] pool.

[Chorus]
Everybody is wondering what and where
They all came from
Everybody is worrying about where they're going to go
When the whole thing's done
But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me
I think I'll just let the mystery be

[Verse 1]
Some say once gone you're gone forever
And some say you're going to come back
Some say you rest in the arms of the Saviour
If in sinful ways you lack
Some say that they're coming back in a garden
Bunch of carrots and little sweet peas
I think I'll just let the mystery be

[Chorus]
Everybody is wondering what and where
They all came from
Everybody is worrying about where they're going to go
When the whole thing's done
But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me
I think I'll just let the mystery be

[Verse 2]
Some say they're going to a place called Glory
And I ain't saying it ain't a fact
But I've heard that I'm on the road to Purgatory
And I don't like the sound of that
I believe in love and I live my life accordingly
But I choose to let the mystery be

I love this woman.

Good for you for exploring all the angles. For me, as you outlined with the insanity of the belief that the universe came from nothing, it becomes a pretty clear distinction.

I think it’s more logical to assume that a being outside of nature crafted creation than creation creating and ordering itself.
