I’m the stereotypical white middle aged southern male gentleman who considers his choices through a utilitarian lense.
I don’t try to look or act like others, but it happens. I like my hair short because it’s easier to deal with and keep clean. I don’t have tattoos because it’s a waste of time and money and I’m fine with the way God made my body. I don’t need to ink it up for others to see.
I wear comfortable clothes that are modest. I don’t care about brand names unless I like the look, feel, fit, and/or durability of the item. I have no qualms about wearing Sketchers, for instance, because they are inexpensive, functional, comfortable, and modest. I also like Polo brand shirts. They fit well and hold up better than other shirts, etc.

For the last 30 years I've had facial hair, shopped at thrift stores and rode my bicycle to the bars. Like a poster here labeled me, I am the OH.....Original Hipster.

I had beards when it wasn't cool. Now I actually avoid because it's hot and they get annoying.
As for tats. Never got into them. I am annoyed by this last generation and these soft arse little pussies having sleeves and thinking it makes them tough.
Hired some kid two months ago and I actually heard him say, "I got them because tats mean you are a bad arse".
Then that little pussy pissed off my assistant and that little wimp looked like he was about to cry when he got told to shut the frick up.
I laughed...then fired him. Annoying little kid who thought he knew everything.

I walk down to Thom's Market in Austin occasionally and buy a six pack of Miller Lite. There's prob 100 craft or local brew flavors there as well. Every time, the bearded hipster at the register makes a comment like, "just going with the Miller Lite tonight?" in his sarcastic 'I'm so much better than you' voice.
I chuckle to myself because while he prob pulls in $7.99/hour I'm making about 200K/Year.

What's wrong with a black leather jacket? That's what I wear when my 8 ball jacket isn't dressy enough.

Get a beanie cap for the first time in your life?
I bought my first beanie cap a few years ago but it was 100% out of necessity and not for a “look”. Still hate them, but I hate the feeling of my ears about to go numb even more.

I dress not to stand out anymore than I already do, so yes. I try to dress like others.

Did you grow a beard in the last few years?

I don't try to appear successful, just happens to be that way.
