Do you actively try to look stereotypical?

Did it start in junior high and has been with you ever since or was there a time you diverged and returned to the herd later.
Did you grow a beard in the last few years?
Aquire a bunch of yeti and vented shirts the last few?
Get a beanie cap for the first time in your life?
I'm wondering how aware you are about trying to look like others or does it happen to manifest itself without effort.
Like you had no intention of becoming a hipster you just always liked black frame glasses and got tired of shaving and all of sudden you walk into a bar and think you're looking in the mirror when you see another dude.

I avoid stereotypes altogether. It's why I drive a big pickup with a salt life window sticker.

No, I don't look stereotypical at all. I think most current trends are stupid. I wear flannel shirts, cargo shorts, and Crocs...never all together though.

Boots, jeans, flannel shirt or t-shirt depending on the weather. That's my non work uniform. I find that at 42 idgaf what other people think about me. It's quite liberating

Aside from professional settings, why should I care how I'm perceived?
I do what makes me happy.
What is the benefit of purposely conforming? Are there perks to looking like a pretentious, out-of-work barista?

Nah. I don't like leather jackets. I have a new pair of tennis shoes for the gym and an old one for yard work. Everything else is a work shoe or a boot or Sperrys

Nope, in fact I often prefer NOT to blend in and just let myself be me and like what I like regardless. If that happens to be in style or all the rage then fine but I'm comfortable breaking the mold so to speak.

Can anyone explain to me the infatuation with Caps? Is most south Louisiana balding or do they just have bad hair? Like frick, is it some type of security blanket for you?

On weekdays I look like the stereotypical Fed worker who doesn't have to dress up for work. A polo and slacks, all day, every day.
I feel bad for the men I see walking to/from work in their expensive suits during July, August, and September. Glad it's not me.
