She gyrates on a plexiglass barrier and then puts her leg over it.
What a major dancing accomplishment!!!!
Oh Madonna, we love you so!!!!!
This shite is so cringe that it’s frightening.

Wife was a huge Madonna fan until she went to see her last year in DC. It was a Monday night. Madonna was 2-2.6 hours late starting the show.
She walks out and says "Sorry I'm late. But afterall, I am THE QUEEN".
My wife and her friend were pissed. But at least they didn't spend FU money like some of the people on VIP / box seats.

For a minute there I thought this was going to be a slight on my ex Podna, Big_Vacherie_Moe’s, favorite band, Journey. He never misses a show. He sometimes sings in his sleep at work.

Not sure if they need the adulation, the money, or just enjoy performing, but most do
More to harm their legacy than further it with these types of performances.
It’s sad.

Decades ago, she said if she were to ever become irrelevant to the public she’d die. I’m paraphrasing. But close. So there you go.
Found it. 1991 Vanity Fair interview. It’s really just sad. I think this is an impulse we all have. But I guess it depends on how you define and consider “mediocrity.” Being a mediocre husband, parent, adult child, Christian, servant: definitely. There should be drive. But it should not be a striving after the wind or a self-salvation project. We are all guilty of this at times and to varying extents. I guess Madonna just said it. And then never changed.

“My drive in life is from this horrible fear of being mediocre. And that’s always pushing me, pushing me. Because even though I’ve become Somebody, I still have to prove that I’m Somebody. My struggle has never ended and it probably never will.”

It makes me sad to see it. I’ll read someone is touring and think I’d love to see them, but after watching recent concert footage on YouTube-it’s a no. Even Stevie Nicks-no desire to see her in concert. Most of them are really dependent on background singers.

Mediocre??? Sweetheart, you’ve become something much worse. You’ve become embarrassing and a joke.

The word is cringey. Dumbass.

You said "dumb arse geriatric rock stars" but Madonna is really in a category of one. No one could possibly make me cringe harder than Madonna.

I would even say cringeworthy, cringe-worthy, or even cringe-inducing.
We've got Boomers using billions of kilowatt hours to make Corvette memes on Facebook. Using a few extra letters isnt going to break the internet.

I saw The Allman Brothers and ZZ Top about 10 years ago. They were old but sounded great and felt lucky to see them before a few of them passed.

Bob Dylan is like 90 years old and still performing. It’s insane. I agree with you that it’s cringey as frick but I mean if you could go out there and make millions of dollars doing what you love at that age wouldn’t you do it too? I would! Don’t blame the artists blame the people buying the tickets to go watch these freak shows!

Since Im 42 OP, and clearly the middle ground here between you and these old boomer/gen x rock stars, I'm going to let you in on two little secrets:
1. Youre right. Pretty much all of these old acts need to hang it up. They're well past their prime and it's a bit embarrassing seeing them hang on too long.
2. You're use of "cringe" is absolutely atrocious. Whatever your generation is called, you guys sound like embarrassing douchebags. Stop

I saw Styx in December. Tommy Shaw is 72, but was playing guitar and moving around on stage like a 20-year-old. James Young did not move much, but he can still play the guitar.
I saw Kiss a few years ago. Gene is pretty stiff, but Paul Stanley (74) was jumping around all over the place and doing stunts like zip-lining.
