Do teens drink alcohol more now compared to the 80s and 90s?

I said there was less drinking now. What are the real numbers?

Nobody drinks like we drank on the early 2000's - fight me

Yes. Less alcohol overall for younger generations.

Butt chugging is definitely more popular

Considerably less. If they are drinking alcohol then that means they’re actually socializing which does not exist anymore.

They don't go out and socialize enough to stay as drunk as we did. And, honestly, it's a big problem. The lack of socializing moreso than the drinking.

You are correct. More kids don't drink at all nowadays.

Not even close. They smoke more weed though.

Way less. Even college drinking is down. When we were 16, as soon as we left home on the weekends we were drinking beer.

Way less. It was all part of teen culture 30+ years ago.
Parents were less fearful, we were allowed to be kids. I'm grateful for that.
I'm also grateful I somehow survived.

What I see from my students and those that my wife teaches is weed, all day long. Every classroom reeks of it.

The lengths we’d go to just to hang out. Riding bikes all over a non-pedestrian town like BR. Parties in fields, LSU lakes and Union, False River cabins, woods etc. My first beer was at the Caterie with a friend, no ID and a Cheeseburger in Paradise.
We didn’t need alcohol, but man did it flow in the late-80s, early-90s including when drinking age was still 18.
The liquor store on Highland in the ghetto would sell to you or the random patron you paid to buy for you. Northgate sold us kegs if we could find an 18yo w ID.
My boys are only 3 and 5, so this is the only teen/collegehood I know. I assume it’s vastly different now.

I was early 2000s and really we were more into smoking pot than drinking for whatever reason.

Probably a bunch of butt light!

There are too many ways to get in trouble drinking now. Everyone has a camera in their pocket and social media can broadcast your drinking to the world.
Athletes can get banned from sports if they are caught drinking anytime during the school year. Parents can go to jail if they host parties as well.
While it still goes on, it is usually smaller groups.
Weed was easier to get as a high schooler 30 years ago and I can only imagine it is even easier now.
Hell, it’s probably easier for a teen to buy fentanyl than it is alcohol.
