Jurassic Park may not be possible, but I think in the intent at least it was meant to be plausible. SF often takes leaps that maybe later ends up being bad science or maybe was bad all along, but that comes with the territory of trying to be predictive to some degree. Or in this case the intent of the story wasn't to concentrate on the method, but just to think about the consequences if it was possible. How you get there just had to be hand waived a bit, but it was really the questions that came after that are important.

Asking questions at all sort of became irrelevant with the sequels through, as they just became simple monster movies.

That’s because Disney has taken the story billions fell in love with, shite all over it and made it an agenda pushing pile of crap.

Visually Beautiful crap, but still crap.

Their story is shite because they shoehorned their SJW agenda into it.

It’s barely even Star Wars at this point

The Christmas Special was better than TLJ

Never did like the subsequent films. They never really measured up to the first.

I think the problem is a combination of two things.

1. It’s become “cool & edgy” to bitch about anything Star Wars related that has come out since Return of the Jedi. They think it makes the look like “true” fans to hate everything about Star Wars now.

2. People in general now are not happy unless they have something to whine and bitch about.

(Full disclosure)
I’ve been a HUGE Star Wars fans since 1976 when 6 year old me first saw it in the theater. Thus my user-name. I watch the movies, cartoons, read the books, comics, anything I can get Star Wars related. And I love them all.

It’s no different than when BvS came out and people were upset about how the character and history of Batman was purely written and depicted. This has a huge fan following of 40 years that have passed down thru at least 2 generations. The characters have been developed thru countless media on how they are. This new movie has made a mockery of those depictions. Yes there will be backlash but it is no different than any other character(s) that have history and huge followers.

What exactly is it then if not sci-fi?

It's a "Space Opera" with much heavier elements of Fantasy than any true "Science Fiction". Also, many say that Space Opera is a sub-genre of Sci Fi.

Either way, Star Wars is not Sci Fi.

Yes

I watched A New Hope the other day. The writing isn't good and the acting is worse. I don't get the obsession. But you don't dare say any of that because Star Wars

Did you see the new one?

As a stand alone, it's a good movie. But it also killed the saga.

I don’t think so. And besides, the saga as we know it is coming to an end. There is only one more movie left in this story anyway. It only makes sense they’re starting to wrap it up.

I highly doubt that myself. They will take a little break, but there will be more cause anytime they put out a movie it will rake in millions.

It’s been said that I am a force to be reckoned with. Does that make me a Jedi?
