For me, it can't really be supplemented or recreated. All the stuff since I've found boring and stupid.

Here is the dictionary definition. The difference is that true science fiction tries to say something about how these changes of technology affect humanity or what they mean in the scheme of things. Star Wars is just a soap opera that happens to take place in space.

The questions star wars asks are usually based on character interaction or governments systems. There's really little impact on the plot due to specific technology. You could just as easily base most of them in the wild West with little change to actual story.

Not a Star Wars fan, but it's no different than grown men being obsessed with 18-22 year old college kids playing sports to the point of decorating their homes, cars, clothes etc. with their favorite team. To each their own.

Really makes no difference to me, but was curious about the foundation of that assertion.
Jurrassic Park, to me, is borderline though. It's not even plausible to make a dinosaur the way they did. The Meat Eater podcast had a scientist on this year discussing that very topic. Makes it seem more fantastic tham scientific.
