It is like Disney kicked a baby.

quote:Star Wars is a Western/Fairy tale set in space. Good guys(Han and Luke) shoot guns and rescue the princess(Leia) while racing across the wilderness on their trusty beasts(Millineum Falcon and X-wings) to escape the Nazis(Empire).
You could just as easily base most of them in the wild West with little change to actual story.

It's really no different than football, I know people who are so invested that they can't actually enjoy saints games. Football, Star Wars and heroin, all can be dangerous if done in extremes.

Original question - IMO yes. Comic book movies too.

That’s because Disney has taken the story billions fell in love with, shite all over it and made it an agenda pushing pile of crap.

Took place in the past so it's a documentary.

the usual suspects have completely melted over this film. It's hilarious.
The only people melting are those defending a horrible movie from “fanboys”. Most of the arguing and bickering comes from people not having any part of people not liking the movie. Boggles the mind.

It's a very big deal at our house. My youngest son is a HUGE SW fan. He was unprepared for the Last Jedi. Came home and cried for hours. Granted, he is a kid and has autism, but it was really traumatic for him. Idk any adults that have reacted so strongly. I think if I did I'd probably be a little more judgy.

The first one was a cowboy movie in space.

Yep. Especially episode IV. It was Shane in space.

Exactly. That's because it is a Space Opera, a sub-genre of Sci Fi.
I haven't seen all of the SW media but my guess is that it remains a Space Opera.
