I have a Valentine One that's probably 25y/o. It has paid for itself many times over. I've given it to my son since I now drive like an old man. lol

Don’t get caught with one in Virginia. Instant ticket even if you aren’t speeding.

Yep. Use my Valentine 1 daily. It has saved my arse countless times. Waze don’t work on back roads baw.

Now that I’m older, I’m actually less cautious with speed. Watched too many cars with no lights on at night on I10 that don’t get pulled over, etc.
The speed limit in Texas getting raised to 75 in a ton of areas sort of became an understanding that except in particular places, no popo seem to run radar now. I know when 6 hits 290, maybe a cop five miles down the road, there will always be one in Hearne (I recognize the loading facility, not the town name,) etc. the spots are predictable for the most part. Most of the interstates are so jammed with assholes doing 68 in a 75 you can’t do much anyway (looking at you I-45.)
It’s helpful to drive on roads outside the city where most country people learned to drive. You can drive 100 if you want, but if you come over a hill and a tractor has pulled out in front of you, it’s on you.

No those things are so stupid. It’s not that hard to avoid speeding tickets. My grandpa had one in his car and so when I got his car it came with it. It was so annoying I took it out
I strongly look down on people who still use those things

Have you ever gone 66 in a 65? 26 in a 25? You're breaking the law.

My pa-paw had one back in the day. I would ride with him to check wells in LaSale and Grant Parish. The microwave would at Pearl & Sid’s would set it off every time we passed by on 165. That was the wildest thing to little teche.
He called it the “fuzz buster!”

I rarely use mine anymore.
The two dots from the suction cup, however, are still prominent.

I have an old Escort that I used to use in the ‘80s and ‘90s. I just stopped when law enforcement started using ‘instant on” radar. Nowadays, Waze does me fine.

I have an old Valentine 1 also and it works great. Saves my arse all of the time.

Both our cars have Escort Max 360 MKII detectors in them.
We travel a lot, I usually have Waze and the Escort App running.
The 360s have saved me countless tickets; they have easily paid for themselves many times over.
One feature I like with them is that if they detect an X or K band signal in the same spot three times, they auto lock it out so it doesn't alert on that signal in the future. You can also lockout a signal by hitting the mute button 3 times.
I have ours mounted in the car ( using mounts like this) with hardwired power and remote mute buttons on the dash that are easy to reach and engage.

The arrest, car impounded etc is just the start of the legal process
Civil servants doing civil servant work
But the answer is always the valentine 1. Just can’t open the glove box

That’s because the first radar detectors were marketed under that brand name. Fuzz buster invented radar detectors!

No I don't break the law.
Well I do. Going 10 over in a dead stretch while maintaining full control and not being on my phone isn't hurting anyone
And you break some law every day.
I bought 25 lbs of jumbo shrimp right off the boat today. No tax.
