That’s fine, but if you were laying naked in the bed and offered yourself, they would bang you.

If you are a male and have platonic female friends I'd say the odds are you are a homosexual.

I don't have any female friends that I wouldn't bend over if I got the chance.....

I never pretended they wouldn’t. We actually talk about sex a good bit. Even with that they have no expectations and still continue to be close friends.

I'm really sorry OP, but she's either already sleeping with him or it's headed that way.

I’m married and a girl “accidentally” texted me one time a few years ago, so I told her “wrong number”. She would apologize then occasionally text me back about football or fishing or something innocent like a bad day. I tried not to be a jerk, but let her know we couldn’t be texting, but she would insist it was so cool just to have a Platonic friend of the opposite sex to bounce things off of. Well, she got way more aggressive and flirtatious and because I didn’t shut things down early, some inappropriate texts got sent to me and my wife found them and it was almost the end of my one and only marriage of many years. I never had even met that girl IRL, but Curiosity damn near killed this cat. I’m done with Platonic.

I’ve got plenty of male friends who don’t want to sleep with me. Benefits of looking like a troll, I guess

So, what I'm hearing is they wouldn't sleep with you.

I dont know any men who care about losing women friends.

I’ve got a few woman at work who I like hanging out with. I see them a lot more than my actual friends. We don’t go hang out outside of work or anything unless the entire department goes somewhere, but it makes the workday more fun.

I have a lot of lifelong guy friends who are as the OP described (no sex but we talk and hang out). However, I made a perfect score on the arguments part of my LSAT and every single one of my guy friends is an engineer of varying sorts. When we were in high school/college and had free time, we would smoke a joint, play chess, watch documentaries, etc. I think most men and women are have very different interests and ways of communicating, but male/female friendship can and does happen when interests, intellect, and temperament align.

ETA: many, but not all, did, at some point, have romantic feelings towards me, but we usually had a mature discussion and are still bury a body/donate a kidney friends to this day (I’m early middle aged).

I mean most of my connections/friends in Dallas, male or female now, came through that network. It's something about not biting the hand that feeds you.

That's my situation. Also, the dynamic changes somewhat once you've passed a certain age, especially if you've been married a long time (and took your marriage vows seriously)...

No hope either. They know where they stand with me....and it’s definitely not a 3 way.

This is one of my favorite things about being married. You start to feel a little maternal about the men around you.

Sure it's possible. But they're usually the result of some sort of friction that prevents a romantic relationship. That friction can take the form of the fact that one or both of you are in committed relationships/married. It could be because you're not attracted to her.

But you mean is it possible that two single people that are attracted to each other could just be friends? I think that's very rare.
