I'm sorry but this just doesn't make much sense. I don't know what your "its too late now" point means.
The people that are not wearing masks now most likely didn't take the SAH order very seriously.
The people being all "high and mighty" have been "high and mighty" from the beginning.

N95 hospital grade... well, 95% of the time they work, if they are fitted properly.
Cloth homemade masks... nope. They are just giving people a false sense of security and are quite possible dirties themselves than the air you'd be breathing in. Including germs from other people and cross contamination from everything you touch.
Washing your hands is far more effective than homemade cloth masks. Especially when it comes to protecting yourself.

Everyone is so sure that washing your hands is effective at stopping a respiratory virus and equally as sure that a mask doesn’t work. They have provided the same evidence for both.
