The schools under the Catholic Archdiocese of Baton Rouge in my area have been open for over a month. They are restricting movement in schools, doing the mask thing, and checking temperatures. So far, there has been no issues.

Any takers on us "seeing a spike" next weekend?

Of course we will, in cases. We always were going to have a spike when schools opened. That’s just statistically a certainty. Doesn’t mean we’re going to overwhelm the hospitals or kill off grandma.

Right. But class size & transportation restrictions made it a logistical nightmare for 5 days a week.
in Rapides you just needed to put a mask on your kid.

At least in elementary grades

Just got a message that Bossier schools will go full time for middle school Monday, 9/14 and HS a week or two later while they make sure there are no transportation issues.

The clown announced the phase and didn’t even provide specifics. Horrific leadership.

I know for a fact family members are already calling to see if they can visit nursing homes again because according to the White House guidelines they can under phase 3. This is absolutely ridiculous to announce this without giving any guidelines when it comes to this.

The schools under the Catholic Archdiocese of Baton Rouge

I believe Baton Rouge is overseen by a bishop and not an archbishop, therefore Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge is the correct identification.

The only archdiocese in Louisiana is in New Orleans.

No chance of the petition being successful. None. Too many hurdles in LA

Problem with public school kids in some areas is lack of internet and most don't have parents home to supervise or help them.
Until you know the challenges schools face in ensuring everyone has what they need to function in virtual school you probably ought to keep your thoughts to yourself.

But once again, that is from the school board, not JBE The school board tied their own individual plan to the phase numbers. So, they should proceed JBE has no school ties
You're an assclown just like your hero JBE.

I think he made it quite clear today that a lot of restrictions and mitigation efforts will still be in place. His version of phase 3 and what people are expecting are probably going to be two entirely different things.

My kids’ schools are already prepping for a full return of students following whatever JBE said today. They’re just waiting on the school board to say when it starts.

I feel like a failure as a parent every time I drop my kid off wearing a freaking mask. “Go breath your own CO2 for 7 hours”. Not to mention the way they ambush the car to check his temperature with a laser to the head.

"seeing a spike" is a quote. He's going to shame us for something. He'll use it ramp back phase 2 restrictions.

I love how some people cruise the board just looking for a chance to correct someone. A lot of people know Baton Rouge isn’t an Archdiocese but was that really relevant to the point of the post...damn.
