While introverts are a minority group in society, they form the majority of gifted people. Moreover, it appears that introversion increases with intelligence so that more than 75 percent of people with an IQ above 160 are introverted (Sword, 2002).
I can confirm this is true. Now leave me alone.

You lack confidence because you feel the need to talk to everyone in the room. I chill on the side and let the room come to me.
But ppl want to speak with me, who am I to deny that if it makes their day?

Introverts are just good listeners.

I have confidence. I mostly just don't like talking to people, especially people I don't know. I turn on extroversion when needed, but it drains my energy pretty quickly.
This is largely it. I just don't like talking to people. It has nothing to do with confidence or ability, I find it exhausting to the point of frustration. I have my wife, my kids, and 1 friend for support and that's really all that I need.

You're the reason people become introverts.

This is great! I’m glad you found a way to get over it. But, I think it still exists in some fashion because you always have to mention “I lift and BJJ and improve my cardio”. Anyway, what the heck is BJJ?

Same. I prefer to keep my circle small and I don't care much for small talk

The difference between an extrovert and an introvert is extroverts are energized through socialization and collaboration, whereas introverts receive energy from alone time or in social settings with much smaller groups.

On the spectrum.

Yeahhhhhhhh..... it is not the simple.

In Scruffy’s opinion, most people who call themselves introverts aren’t actually introverts.
They are just looking for some reason as to why they are alone.
Everyone is always trying to find some group to be a part of, even if that group’s entire identity is they don’t like being in groups.

I'm confident as hell.
I just don't want to be around you.

One might argue you are describing vanity and not confidence.

Not even close.
I'm very confident, I just don't like to force talk to people that are extroverts. I will listen and let them all talk over each other..

Everyone uses that definition. Many, because of career, learn they must overcome and act like extroverts during certain times. Still, at the end of the day, they are physically and emotionally drained and need quiet time to recharge.

Do you lift, do BJJ. and have excellent cardio?

Of course he is. He thinks that people want him to

He doesn't even have enough self awareness to realize most people would probably prefer to watch paint dry and can't wait for him to go away.

quote:I would run from you. I know people like you, see them at work, gym, etc., they spend alot of time running their mouths. I don't have time for that.
Say I see someone I barely know in a convivence store, Rouses or the gym. I will run up to them and talk their heads off.
On the other hand, I can be social and enjoy people as well, but enjoy my alone time as I'm a well-adjusted person. I don't need other's acceptance/approval to be happy.

Being an introvert doesn't mean that you don't have friends

I'm definitely introverted. I have a number of lifelong friends, never had any problems dating or meeting women. I've been married for around 20 years with kids.
I also don't enjoy big crowds. I prefer socializing in big groups in somewhat small doses.
