Out of curiosity, what do you picture in your head when you think “commercial that’s effective at marketing a product while specifically targeting straight white men”?
Any of them that show a somewhat obvious heterosexual white man who is competent and the ‘’leader’ of the situation.
Possibly any other commercial when the other demographic groups aren’t lecturing to and rolling their eyes at him.

These companies likely figure that the soy boys of today will buy whatever they are told to get by their mates or societal pressure. Sadly, they may be right.
Sounds stupid but you’re right on target. The things you see advertised of certain products are for the ones who buy anything without thinking….

Hot women in bikini’s. You really couldn’t come up with that one?

The wealthest, most powerful demographic in human history and yet we still cry about little bits of equity.
Cry me a river with the victimhood and grievance politics.

Straight white men shouldn't be supporting Hollywood or Madison avenue in the first place.

Based on the commercials that I’ve seen during the CWS, you would think that over half of the population has HIV.
They purchased that ad time hoping the Aggies would make it to Omaha

Do you actually think that would satisfy the first prong of my question? What percentage of straight white male viewers do you think that would influence into a purchase?

The real answer is that a long time ago corporate America figured out that while men may make the majority of money in most households, it’s the women who spend it.

I watch very little TV these days, so I don’t have anything current to reference, so I’ll dip a little older: would you consider the “Jake from State Farm” late night phone call commercial to be targeting straight white males or no?

Just hot women anyway. The 70’s women like Charlie’s Angels didn’t require skimpy clothes, just tight. T&A ads were all the rage.

White men are the forgotten demographic. If you take the time to understand why, it makes sense to many businesses even if it irritates me.. simplistic view is that we aren’t the major decision maker on most products that are advertised via commercials

I’m still astounded at times at how triggered conservatives are at commercials. Should be subject to legitimate study

Many brands are focused on recruiting the next generation of buyers. The US is becoming more multicultural with each generation.
