Do any of you have any experience with Keto or Carnivore Diets?

Trying to weigh the two to see what I can live with. My only sticking point with the carnivore diet is me doing away with vegetables, just meat alone. I’ve already committed to 86ing the major carbs entirely, it’s just doing nothing but meat alone, and how difficult that is to pull off.

Any first hand experiences with it and how difficult you found it? I’m thinking this may prove challenging for eating out for lunch especially.

I just don't see the point unless you buy into the carnivore mindset that the vegetables are actually detrimental to your health

Just eat meat, veggies, and keep other carbs in extreme moderation

Starting either of these will give you the runs. Other than that and making it through the keto flu, it’s amazing.

Try the OMAD, One Meal A Day. You get a 1 hour window out of 24 to eat whatever you want. Works great but first 2 days are challenging.

Be careful with keto long term because it can cause chronic dehydration that can lead to being a dude with osteoporosis if you don't get mineral replacement right.

There’s a relatively lengthy thread on the Food Board FYI.

Been on carnivore since Sept of last year. I’ll say this, nothing satiates you like meat does. I cheated a bit during Christmas week and absolutely felt the difference; I felt like total shite for about a week.

As your body gets used to carnivore...it’s not an “if”, but “when” will you shite your pants.

Edit: You must supplement with electrolytes and salt btw. You’ll be drinking a ton of water.

I’ve done keto and had good success with it. Got up a little over 200 lbs and didn’t like it. Stayed on it for a couple of months and got down to 185. Felt a lot better health wise. I deal with hypothyroidism and weight around the midsection is an issue.

If I can kill 10-15 I’m perfectly happy.

Take fiber gummies daily and you shouldn’t have a problem.

Problem is keeping it off...the diet is not sustainable long term. Many patients see an elevation of some of the cholesterol markers a result eating high amounts of red meat and bacon.

Biggest concern is lack of other nutrients that get excluded from the diet.

Doing carnivore now. I will do it for 2 months then add some vegetables in. You have to like to cook. There are a ton of sites dedicated to both carnivore and keto. The first 2 weeks can be tough. It’s almost like quitting smoking. Hardcore carnivore people eat a lot of beef hearts and liver. That’s not me. It’s going to be expensive at first. Watch for sales. Rouses had boneless chicken breast in sale for $1.97 lb last week. I loaded up. Buy a vacuum sealer and when stuff goes on sale buy in bulk and freeze it.

I can tell you if you have any type of joint pain you will start feeling better within a week.

My routine is a cup of coffee with heavy cream in the morning. 4 eggs and a meat late morning. Snack mid afternoon and protein for supper.

Eat your last meal by six and no snacks. No breakfast. Eat around 11-12 and you will see results.

False. That’s a myth. My cholesterol is better than it’s ever been. Animal fats are healthier for you. Seed oils are really bad for you.
