Do any doctors think it’d be ok to take 600mg of trazadone?

I just started vraylar and i can’t fricking sleep
I woke up at 2am yesterday. And I’ve been I up since 3:30 this morning, after getting 3.5 hours of restless sleep
I called yesterday to get something else for sleep and she said to increase from 300mg to 450mg. It didn’t work
I googled and it says you can take 600mg but if you’re inpatient. What will happen if I take it without being inpatient?
The doctors office closed at noon unfortunately.

I'm not a doctor, but I do have experience with pills.
It's never a good idea to overdo anything, and mix in grain alcohol. Also, that medication seems to be more of an antidepressant.

I think you're risking Serotonin Syndrome

Stop taking the vraylar until you talk to a medical professional.

It is an antidepressant but it’s also a great sleep med. well it’s usually very effective

Obviously not a doctor, but that seems high. Especially is it is double your normal dose.
Does your doctor have an after hours number?

I think it’s quadruple. I take 150mg but occasionally take two if I can’t sleep
I got her answering service when I called. I asked if she checks messages and they said they’ll get them Monday

Exercise more, turn off tv/phone/computer at 7 pm, get a better more consistent bedtime routine.
Pills aren’t the answer for sleepless nights. And also, even a perfectly healthy person will have some nights that are restless with early AM awakening. It happens as we get older.

Paige, I googled and saw the same thing.
Knowing absolutely nothing about it, I would wait to see what your doctor says, but if your sleep is being impacted that can be a bitch.
Sometimes I wonder if there are some doctors who are irresponsible when it comes to prescribing certain types of meds, specifically meds for depression, anxiety, etc because it can change a person's behavior, etc and there needs to be something available so people can get accurate information anytime they need it and not just when the doctor's office is open.

You should talk to your PCP. Or at least go to WebMd. Instead of airing your dirty laundry here

I have bp I. Sleep hygiene doesn’t do shite
I had a manic episode earlier in the week because I wasn’t on an antipsychotic but the vraylar isn’t cutting it

If you’re going through a manic or hypomanic episode now you’re going to need antipsychotic or benzo to get you back down.
If you think you may be a threat to yourself or others while you’re in this state I’d recommend going to the ER. If not you may just have to suffer through it until it pssses.

It appears this is a type of anti-depressant that can help with sleep. Any time you switch dosages in meds like this, I would think it takes at least a few days before you would notice anything.
