There is a statute in Louisiana that allows this to happen. It's rarely used because if it's frivolous or you can't show just cause for it, you would have to pay attorney's fees of the opposing party.

When they get married, he 1000% is taking responsible for that minor. Chip in Jodie, or let the kid live with their paternal father.

And also both parties can agree to waive child support altogether, and I would wager if that happens its usually by some of those "good actors". My wife has said she would if we ever split because she knows I will take care of my kid.

This works until she gets mad at you or you refuse to pay for travel ball.

Don't get married and have kids with whores or sorry arse women.

Don't marry some Yuppie girl. Find you a meek, gentle, kind-spirited country girl. If she knows how to cook, and she carries her Bible and lives by it, and she loves to eat bullfrogs - now there's a woman!

This is not true. A lot of judges won’t let you waive support.

Marriage has nothing to do with it. If you have the kid out of wedlock you still owe child support and the same rules apply.

Says who? The US government? frick them and what they think. Having a partner and having children is a natural human thing.

No shite. Quit ignoring red flags and drop that bitch when the pop up. Marriage isn't going to change shite if you have a shite relationship to begin with.

Yes, but for many a loveless, sexless, emotionally neglectful marriage is worse.

My ex and I split in January (it was a long time coming but that's a story for another day). She cleaned my account out, I started back at square 1. Moved on family land since I had nowhere else to go. Paid her $100 a week every week along with a $10k loan I had to take out for my attorney. Gave all my check stubs and bank statements showing living expenses and barely making it starting over while she continues to live outside of her means. They hit me with an additional $430 a month plus having to backpay the $430 a month back to February. She's getting $830 a month for one child and smiling in my face when she meets me to drop off/pick up my daughter. I have no issues supporting my daughter or being a present dad but this is ridiculous. I'm scraping by to make it and she's bragging about eating steak and getting her nails done still on my dime. (rant over)

~$800/month

I wish.

I'm paying $2200 a month after it's all included. For 1 kid.

And you're missing the part where you really get fricked. They'll split additional costs at the assigned proportion. So, if mom doesn't make much and dad makes more, mom can sign the kids up for whatever expensive arse private lessons, clubs, etc and dad gets to write checks with no input.

Rule #1 of marriage club.

Always get a pre-nup.

Period. Accept no substitute.

This is bad math.

The concept is that the parent with full custody is incurring expenses, and the $800 is to supplement and reimburse for those expenses. No one who is in or near the middle class is raising two kids on $800 a month.

You can’t write a prenup to cover child support.

Isn't the presumption that she's also paying $800/month for the 2 kids (since you used the same income for both parents). I've never really factored in how much my kids cost me each month, but I would assume I would save more money if I only had to pay $400 a month per child and only had the kids every other weekend.

You could avoid all of this if you just married a woman who makes good money.
