I went to a state school here, was in a fraternity that had just gotten on campus a few years before I did. By the time I left we won the award for best chapter in the country. Every time we went to the house at LSU or Tulane it was every trope/bad stereotype of a fraternity you can imagine. I think this is true for many of the organizations. Guess that's why they've been kicked off of both.

Big school = legacies and daddy's money which leads to entitled shite heads that perpetuate the stereotype and laugh at it/don't even realize it. Most mid-major or state schools or regular people who join for the values.

Umm, no. Atomic bombs can either be fission or both, ie, fission bomb initiates the fusion bomb reaction. The bombs dropped on Japan were fission bombs, and that was the Manhattan project.

Gotcha, must've conflated the scenes.

White people have been shite on for damn near 16 years now, especially white men.

Yea, but we had a pretty good run up until then...
quote:

The beauty of fusion is there is no radioactive waste products.

What happens when a fusion reactor fails?
Fission - splitting an atom. Doesn't take a long time, is the detonator of an atomic bomb.
Fusion - combining atoms. Very difficult, is a chain reaction, happens with an atomic bomb.

If you pay attention during Oppenheimer, the first chapter is Fission (bottom left corner of the screen) and isn't very long because the process of fission doesn't take long, relatively speaking. The second chapter is Fusion, and last almost the whole movie, because it takes way longer, again relatively speaking, to accomplish.

ELI5:
Imagine you have a big toy block, and you want to break it into smaller pieces. If you hit it really hard and it cracks into two pieces, that's like fission. You're breaking one big thing into two smaller things.

Now, imagine you have two smaller toy blocks, and you push them together until they stick and become one big block. That's like fusion. You're taking two small things and making one big thing.

On one hand, you have traditional religious conservatives who believe in families and lots of kids. On the other hand, you have the "men go their own way" movement, who want to forego any long-term relationship with women based on their total abdication of traditional values and gender roles.

I would've made a terrible husband in my 20's, and an even worse father. Best thing for me was getting married and having the kid in my early 30's.

He’s also not exactly known for ingratiating himself with elites whether in Louisiana, Tennessee or Washington DC.

Which is rich, because his name and "Jackson-men" are ALL OVER Louisiana elections leading up to the Civil War. I'm three chapter into Cheathem's A Perfect War of Politics and you can't go a page without his name coming up as a descriptor of a person or political faction.

Jamie Foxx might be the current voice impression gawd

Jamie Foxx
There's an old power factory next to Mardi Gras World, pretty iconic, smoke stacks are still standing (I believe). Build a riverboat-looking stadium, rebrand as the Gamblers, set off the smoke stacks every TD.

I would hate you for about 5 years, then respect and hold you in high regard for the rest of my years.
We pay personal property tax every year in MO, that shite ain't fun.

I mean if they did, why aren't there also "Fireman Story Hours," or "Entrepreneur story hours!"?

EBRL literally has free financial literacy classes, and I bet if you wanted to organize an event where first responders read stories of their bravery to kids, the library would support you. It's kind of their thing, supporting education the education of all people, not just people who think like they do. Does your local library offer Drag Story Time? If so, go ask them. They are the ones deciding programming, not the baws of the OT. Are you afraid of the answer making you feel uncomfortable or bad about yourself?

The problem people have with trans people has nothing to do with fear.

We might have common ground here, as I'm assuming your issue is with people pushing others to be trans or something along those lines? Is that correct? Because I feel similarly to people pushing their religion on others just because they think they're right.

quote:

At what point does "difference" cease to be an issue?

It will never not be an issue, which is why it is still an issue today. People have been intolerant of others since pretty much the dawn of civilizations. That's why we, as a society, need to continually teach the youth about how to accept something that is different to our preferences.

quote:

Literally the entire point of normalizing something is to make sure that shame is reduced that society is more open to it, and that the intention is that "more people feel free to do it."

Better said, they are actively creating the environment and encouraging the continued practice of it. AKA Grooming.

I agree with everything you say, except the last part. How can you know what their intention is? And you seem smart enough to realize the intention of one does not represent the intention of all.
