Most of these comments are about the carnival. If you’re going to go to the carnival, get out a couple of hours before dark.

The exhibits/events in the arena and stadium are usually fine and I’ve never regretted taking my young kids.

Came here to post this. I’ve been attending for about 20 years and the carnival has always been trashy after the sun goes down. The attendance overall seems to have really increased over the last 10 years which means an increase in trashy.

There is nothing cheap about it. Even after the $25/per entrance fee.. turkey legs $27. Beer $15.

this is a cheap event in 2026

It is part of the reason it sucks now. they have a Black Heritage Day and a Go Tejano Day and every other act is rock or country so having one day each for two cultures is pretty much the opposite of DEI

Why do they have to have special days for "cultures?"

Give em a hat and they all want to be cowboys.

That applies to a lot of people.. In general. Dude out there dressed like a full cowboy who probably never pet a horse.

I am not the only one that has noticed a HUGE amount of black population attending the carnival.

There are a lot of black cowboys.

The wife and I are going to Tim McGraw only because it’s a Saturday show during the day. You couldn’t pay me to be around that area after dark.

They’ve already had 2-3 shooting in nearby parking lots this year since the rodeo started.

Cool. But I’m guessing they aren’t wearing pink sparkle hats and booty shorts twerking on top of a tractor whilst 40 others film it for posterity.

Black cowboys probably don’t want to be at the carnival after dark either.

Went today with kids, got there around 10, left at 2 Wasn't that bad, we got to do everything, and the crowd was fine. The volume of people coming in when we were walking out was insane though, im sure its hard to walk right now.
