Go to Universal once and you will never go back again. WDW is light years ahead, except possibly in food prices.

One of the worst takes ever on this site.

That’s my favorite ride at Universal. We didn’t know what to expect and thought it would be more of a visual thing.

I haven’t been since they did all that Harry Potter stuff, but if I had to choose I’d choose universal any day over the mouse.

Harry Potter is really cool if your kids are into it.

Universal has more fun rides for teen and Harry Potter world.is. more immersive then Galaxy's edge.

Disney has avatar land and Epcot drink

I thought Harry Potter was cool and I'm old.

I liked Volcano Bay the best.

Family wants to go to Disney, again. Personally I'd like to go to Universal instead, been to Disney several times and so over it. Any suggestions or pros and cons to each. I'd hate to talk up Universal and it turns out worse. TIA. Would put on the Travel Board but too boring over there

You can probably do Universal in a day if you buy their version of fast passes. They are expensive, but worth it if you only want to do one day of Universal. Rides are better, but the overall experience of Disney is much better if that’s your thing.

The rides are better at Universal. The new HP roller coaster is fantastic. But you can knock out both parks in a day, maybe a day and a half. The WDW experience is much better, especially in the food department.

WDW. Universal is where the absolute dregs of society go

Yeah, the dregs who can dump $5K for a vacation.

Universal is much better than Disney unless your kids are really small and can’t ride real rides yet and are just fascinated by the Disney characters.

The rides are far superior at Universal, and it’s not as spread out so less walking. Stay at one of the original 3 hotels (Loews Royal Pacific is the cheapest of the original 3 but still very nice). Your room key gets you early park entry and is an express pass for every ride except the newest one. Once you spend a day at Universal with that express pass, you’ll never return to Disney again. And City Walk on grounds is fun for kids and adults at night after the parks close.

Busch Gardens is awesome too - by far has the best roller coasters - and is about an hour away. Do a day each at the two Universal parks, then drive on down to Busch Gardens and hit that for a day.

Disney is great if you are looking for more world building instead of thrill rides and can let them immerse you in their world. Universal is great if you just want an amusement park and rollercoasters with less overall world-building. Though, as others have said, Harry Potter World is the tits when it comes to immersion.

Don't be a weirdo with either and they both can be fun and acceptable.

NOTE: The above statements are not endorsed by the OT because it's holier than thou.

Kids under 10, Disney. Kids over 10, Universal. Both suck arse for the parents.

If you ride the Rip Ride Rockit at Universal, Sabotage by the Beastie Boys syncs up with the drop and turns

The booze argument is pointless unless you plan on spending all your time in Magic Kingdom. The other parks have all the beer and liquor you could want.

For me it comes down to do you want to enjoy some thrill rides or do you want to be immersed in the world of Disney. I enjoy both. Can you not do both? Is there a reason it must be one or the other? Stay at one of the Universal hotels that gives you free Express pass and take a Uber or drive to Disney for a day or two. That would be my suggestion to make this something new while still keeping the ones want to stick to Disney happy.

My family and I went to Universal for the 1st time over Christmas break. Both my boys (8 & 6) said they liked it better than Disney.

DisneyWorld is an actual vacation. Better food, better service, activities other than rides, 6 themed parks, and a variety of attractions for all ages

Universal is a day at park with some really great rides

Theres a reason Disney has 15 theme parks across the globe, and Universal has 6
