This isn't being a drama queen, this is censorship. I can't believe last week some Leftists were saying "Hey you still have 30 Dr Seuss books that aren't cancelled... yet, and the Cat in the Hat is probably up next." Just imagine saying "Sure we burnt every copy of Hamlet, Macbeth, and Julius Caesar, but you still have 30 other Shakespearean plays you can read, so no biggie... and by the way King Lear may be next."

The Taming of the Shrew has many many outdated gender stereotypes, it’s depiction of Petruchio subjugating women is quite problematic , and puts women in a negative light as depending upon a man.. Let’s burn the books, and banish the movie.

Freaking out about warnings in regards to movies with racist characters is pretty overdramatic. You can like the movie all you want but to deny some of the racism from a movie made in the 40s is pretty dumb

Did you watch dumbo as a kid? Peter Pan? Did you get a warning that it was racist? Are you now a racist?

And here we have something for the right to freak out about although 95% of those people probably don't even have a subscription to Disney+

Why are you people so fricking dumb? Literals have the market cornered on bastards, not kids in general.

Pretty soon nothing made before 2021 will be acceptable to the left. They are completely insane.

I'm glad I don't have to interact with these crazy people on a day to day basis.

The pirates who antagonize the Robinson family are portrayed as a stereotypical foreign menace.

Wtf is wrong with this world?

I never watched that movie then equated actual living people to the pirates in that movie based on hairstyle or dress.

Oh mom, that guy has a man bun, he must be one of those nasty pirates from Swiss family Robinson.

Isn't every cartoon a caricature in some way? Pocahontas, Mulan, Coco, ......aren't the characters in those movies caricatures of the culture they are attempting to portray?

Uh, that's the entire point.

Can't have your Marxist revolution until you destroy history and start over.

Make no mistake, the woke/CRT crowd are nothing but Marxists in shiny new racist packaging.

Well yeah, they make up like 0.01% of the population.

We just cater to them for no fricking reason and let them control every single narrative.

Luckily I have all of those on my plex. To be fair, the crows in dumbo are a little suspect even prior to wokeness.

They didn’t pull them right? Just off of child profiles, which means they want parents to approve of it. What’s wrong here?

Whoa now....don’t be stating facts on here. We don’t tolerate that kind of nonsense on the OT.

The following is from IMDB. Interesting how something as viewed as progressive in real-time only to be seen as barbaric many years later. But isn't that sorta the story of civilization..... only now now it must be erased

"There is some controversy about the crows of the film, who are meant to represent African-Americans. While the association of African-Americans and crows, both black, predates the film, there are film historians like Richard Schickel who pointed it out as offensive and/or racist. There are those who find their portrayals positive and progressive. Most of the crows were voiced by African-American actors in an era which there was limited casting potential for them, and the crows are actually among the few friendly and intelligent characters in the film."
