As long as they aren’t changing the works, I don’t give a shite.

I’d rather them wearing a hair shirt over it existing than them going Orwellian to pretend it didn’t happen.

Shouldn't that be a "Tigger" warning?

Mowgli is Indian. They even picked Louis Prima over first choice Louis Armstrong because they didn't want to be seen as racially insensitive. If you're going to have a song about wanting to be like humans that obviously fits having monkeys be the animals singing it. They took all of that into consideration even in the 1960's.

Disney has some of the best content out there that goes way back and is pouring money into original content.

Also, it's half the price. I don't think it will put Netflix out if business but it will be in the top 3, Hulu will probably get passed but it doesn't matter bc Disney is a majority share holder in Hulu

So if you say Disney+/Hulu vs Netflix then you have real competition.

Ok. Banana (if you will). What does that have to do with my statement?

We're talking about a world in which the word [synonym for stingy] will get you [dark thick oily substance] and feathered. The fact that they were aware of sensitivities 50 years ago means absolutely squat today.

Eta: answer honestly: would the monkey song scene exist in a Disney movie made today? No. And that was the extent of my statement.

What scenes, from what movies, specifically?

This is funny. I set it up for the kids and put it on the TV this morning before dropping them to school. I played Aladdin and there was a warning I thought was odd (can't recall the exact warning now). And sure enough I get to work and see articles about it

Its dumb but I'd rather that then not having or changing the movies.

I haven't seen anything that says it'll put Netflix "out of business." they definitely compete for a subset of users, but they can co-exist.
Someone posted a promotion for disney+ a month or two ago for three years that's was dirt cheap. So I did that. And we have Netflix.

I wish disney would tell them to F off (in a nicely written statement)

Or just ignore them

Didn't click blind-ish link, but I assume you refer to the 2016 remake. I haven't seen. How does the monkey song compare? shite I guess I have to watch now.

Eta: yeah not even in same stratosphere. And it's a wash with white voice talent sounding black (Christopher Walken, right?)

I'd so rather them display a "trigger warning" than re-edit the shows and movies to be PC. If they did that then it would defeat the purpose of their service really.

TV and movies used to be great before everything became insensitive. True comedy shouldn't have to be censored.

not a chance. Disney and their child media companies are out in front when it comes to the wokeness department.
