They already released that recipe for free.

That translates to $900 million in 30 days. If something doesn’t happen soon, Disney will be bankrupt.

Disney's film division alone earned over 13 billion in 2019.

Disney won't be bankrupt any time soon.

I read somewhere that with every child born, Disney makes $40,000 over that kid’s entire lifetime. I think they’ll recover from this.

With the parks closed and so many of their employees on furlough I find it hard to believe their daily expenses are that high.

This.

I have to think this is more about lost revenue not true costs per day.

$30 mil a day is not that much for a company worth like $500 billion.

The last time Walt was in trouble he released Cinderella.

The Mouse built an empire off of a pair of glass slippers.

Maybe remake it and have history repeat itself?

Disney can get unlimited borrowing. They are not going bankrupt.

The article says they’ve already borrowed $6 billion. Considering there not bringing in any revenue, and have no idea when that will change, and are losing $30 million daily, how do you prosper they pay it off? They will have to liquidate assists to do so. Their problem though is they’ll have to liquidate in a time of economic shock on par with the Great Depression. In other words, they won’t be as many perspective buyers and the price they can demand will be weak.

Bob Iger thinks it’s enough of a crisis for Disney that he’s come out of retirement to help.

I had the same thought when I saw this:

leading to massive drops in revenue

A lot of those lost revenues are from delaying the release of movies. They will make that money back once movie theaters are reopened.

I believe they would need to incur $30M a day in expenditures to truly be hemorrhaging. What the OP posted does not indicate they are truly hemorrhaging, but are just missing out on revenues in some places, gaining revenues on streaming, and delaying revenues from holding off on releasing movies.

Does that mean I can get a deal when me and my brother are in negotiations to buy ESPN and ABC from them? We've got about 100Gs together to invest in the two media franchises.

1st order of business will be to fire TJ and Boomer for good.

If you’re trying to get me to feel sorry for Disney, it’s not working.

Total net worth of Disney in 2019 was $193 billion. Met worth doesn’t mean they have $193 billion in the bank. That means the total worth of all assets owned by Disney are worth that amount.

Dude, if there’s one company that is not going under in this country save for P&G, it’s Disney. They make so much fricking money between the movies, tv shows, merchandise, amusement parks, video games, cruises, books, licensing, and just about everything in between. Disney will recover very quickly from this whole mess.

No business can sustain those types of losses long term. Not even Disney

Lol like you don't think insurance isn't on the table here? I'd bet all entertainment is very protected. Or they'd do bankruptcy and realign a few things. They will have a surge and I bet the cocksuckers will charge more than prices pre-Rona.
