I would be OK with this. They've gotten too big. Sell off a majority share of ESPN & ABC (preferably to seperate buyers) but keep the rights for streaming the content in their libraries & delayed broadcast. The closing of their amusement parks is going to take the whole company down unless they find a easy to infuse a large amount of money while shaving off the ongoing costs of broadcasting.

Total net worth of Disney in 2019 was $193 billion. Met worth doesn’t mean they have $193 billion in the bank. That means the total worth of all assets owned by Disney are worth that amount.

Again, why would we give a shite if they go under? They are virtually an umbrella for a bunch of companies that can (and should) just exist by themselves.

I'm more worried about how incompetent the government is at this point.

$30 mil a day is not that much for a company worth like $500 billion.
Almost a Billion per month is a lot for anyone.

That's a staggering amount of money. I can't think of a company in existence today that can sustain those type of losses.

As I type this, it is a touch less than $188 billion. Their earnings report is due in less than 3 weeks.

What? They have plenty of open revenue streams.

They sell merchandise, streaming and hard copy movies. They own ABC/ESPN, and have a constant stream of ad revenue there.

Me either, and if you feel that way then the question obviously wasn't intended for you.

Seeing a lot of "frick Disney" and "good" comments out there. Curious as to why people have such animosity towards Disney.

I can’t imagine they’re charging that much to put advertising on ESPN right now.

If they had their own VOD service they could rake in on Mulan right now.

$20 per viewing. They’d get at least 5 million purchases on that in the US in the first week. Double that number for the rest of the world. That’s $300 million in cash infusion. In a week.

Here's an infographic of how many companies Disney owns. It's staggering.
