re: Discrimination against fat people is so endemic, most don’t even realise it’s happening

He does already. Ask anyone who has submitted stats to an open market critical illness, life or accident insurance underwriting. GROUP insurance doesn't require it, though.
Why? Don't ask him, ask the carrier or your HR. The answer is Risk pool though.
Another topic should be: why can't we do a risk pool via employer groups for AUTO coverage? Think about that for a second.

Here are some examples of microaggressions. By identifying these microaggressions, maybe you can be more socially conscience and help end discrimination against fat folks.
First, ‘microagression’ is a stupid word.
Second, fat people deserve to be discriminated against. They smell, they invade personal space by being fat, they drive up the cost of healthcare for people that aren’t fat, lazy pieces of shite, they are constantly in the way, and they are too stupid to realize any of these things.

too stupid
When I taught gymnastics, I always assumed the fat kids were stupid. Maybe it was me being young and their roles in movies. Does that make me a bad person? (<---- that doesn't but a lot of other things do)

And here I thought negative discrimination leaned more towards things you couldn’t control.
We have reached a criticality of liberty: everyone feels entitled to be free to do whatever they want, whenever they want, and there shouldn’t be any kind of consequences
Although come to think of it, one can control faith. Not much of a difference in changing faith to avoid persecution than changing waist size to avoid persecution. It’s both conviction driving personal choice.

Discrimination on the basis of a lifestyle or choice is not a problem. It is completely legal and should be encouraged.
If your choices and principles cannot stand up to a small bit of scrutiny, insult, or challenge then those principles aren't worth having anyway.

I was fat.
I am no longer fat.
Stopped eating like shite
Cut back on drinking
Started exercising
With few exceptions, being fat is a choice.
People that choose to be fat should get no sympathy

Actually for most people being fat is genetics

Every fat person I know eats like shite and doesn't exercise. But its "genetics."
Just like the smokers who claim lung cancer is caused by genetics and not by smoking.

How do you know it isn’t the genetics making them eat?

And genetics make them not exercise? C'mon dude.

Valid question. I'm going to go with no.

They probably don’t exercise because of bad joints from genetics

Yeah...weak upper extremities so they can't push their fat asses away from the fricking table.

For the vast majority of people, being fat is a choice. I have no problem with people choosing that, but I also don’t feel sorry for them.
I wouldn't have a problem with that choice, in a vacuum, where each person's bad decisions couldn't affect me. But that isn't reality.
Also, yes, being fat is almost always technically a result of choices, small incremental ones often (usually) over many years.
But our governments, medical system, "health" NGOs, and the food industries they're all in bed with (or at least influenced by, historically) have fricked things up so badly that the ave person starts in a deep nutritional (esp metabolic) hole that's hard to escape.
And our consumer/materialistic/social media culture is helping create more and more sedentary people.
I don't judge fat ot "lazy" people from some moralistic standpoint. Rather I want to judge all of the things that have led to their unhealthy states and help them change, based on science and personal experiences, with improved health and wellness.
Also, I selfishly want to improve the risk pool into which I've been thrown. And, pardon the mixed metaphor, generally alleviate the pressure our obesity and metabolic epidemics are placing on every aspect of our society.

I notice fat people more in the Summer. I just don't understand how they cope with the heat. I've seen some giant people at the Walmarks lately and they seem really uncomfortable getting from their cars to the store.

Not at all. I am genetically inclined to be “fat.” I decided I was tired of being fat, changed my diet, changed my lifestyle, and now I am no longer fat. It is a choice to make good decisions. Of course, those genetics may require some people to have more discipline. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a choice.

I was sitting in the waiting room for a doctor's appointment last week watching a a 350+ lb grossly obese female eating very large bag of BBQ potato chips. She ate the whole damn thing and then started licking her greasy red stained fingers. She turned to me and said "you doing OK?". I said "Did you just eat that whole bag of chips?". She said :yes, do like BBQ chips?". I said "No, I have to watch my figure".
I had had to get up and walk around. I was grossed out.
