Perhaps, I should call and straight up ask for the discount.

That's what I did. First words out my mouth were 'I'd like the customer loyalty discount'.

Before offering me the $50 off, he asked if going to a different package would help with lowering my bill. I told him the channels I have are what my wife wants, and I really don't want to sleep on the couch. He laughed and then gave me the $50 off.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want more channels for less money? I got a extra $18 off and have more channels.

Just got bill for $78 yesterday Choice Xtra. I had $48 dollars of credit rolling off in January. I thought that they wouldn't give me anything. 4 receivers, DVR, HD extra pack.

I called and told them I just got my bill and saw my credits ended this month and asked if there was a way to extend it. Lady says you have another set of credits that start when these come off so your cost will stay the same next year but let me see if I can find anything else for you. She says how about another $50 off? I said hell yeah hook me up.

Next year's monthly bill will be $29.83

Called this number and didn't have to be on hold. Went direct to the hook up girl 800-778-3397

I only pay $70mo for direct, with the channels and nfl, wonder if I can get the deal.

***dtv is $70/mo with ATT unlimited and free HBO with all movie channels for first six months(usually 90 days but we got it doubled bc of other issue) and nfl Sunday ticket.

I didn't think I would get one and the lady went right out the chute with let me see what I can do for you. The phone call is free...can't hurt to ask.

THIS. Doesn't hurt to ask, just got the $50 off and got my bill down to $30 per month. All from making a phone call.

THANKS OP!

Why are they so willing to lower all of our bills without putting up a fight? Most of us are already under contract and can't leave without paying a penalty.

I have no idea, but I’m wondering myself. Something has to be on the horizon.

That number is awesome. The guy picked straight up with no hold time and came through like a boss.

I already have a $50 per month discount through March. The guy just gave me another $50 off for 12 months. So that's $100 off through March, then $50 off through December.

Then he threw in HBO & Starz at half off for 6 months.

Thanks to OP and those who posted the directv # of 1-800-778-3397.

A real person answered on the first ring and I was able to get the $50 off for 12 months and 6 months of sports pack free.

Direct tv just called me from a Springfield, LA number. The lady said because I’m such a good customer that they are giving me HBO and Cinemax for free for 12 months and that they will automatically be removed after that unless I choose to keep them. What in the hell is going on?

Does this only apply to DirecTV or to other ATT items as well?

I called yesterday and got the discount. Called the direct number and spoke with someone in West Virginia. She started off
Asking if I also had ATT which I did because I was eligible for a phone discount too. But since I already had a Discounted rate on my plan my deal was already better. But I did get $70 monthly off my Directv bill for a year which has been running
$136.

Called the other day and got $35 off so I only pay $21 for DirectTV, I didn’t try and get any more channels or anything so I called again today and said I really needed my phone bill lowered and Sunday ticket. He gave me the all sports package for 6 months and starz for 4 months free, do not have to cancel.

I told him I needed my total bill to be cheaper so he looked at internet bill and it was already discounted so he said let me transfer, before you do is there anything else. I said I would like DVR and 2 more boxes and he said I would be called May 1st and I could upgrade all my equipment and get 4 boxes free of charge.

Transferred me to AT&T and they discounted bill $20 and gave me free HBO for life.

Thank you OP!

Thanks a bunch for the heads-up. Just got off the phone with Jennifer (who answered after only one ring) and got $50.00/month off my monthly bill without extending my contract.

You and I have talked often in DATs, but your heads up here was the best convo we have indirectly had.

I also dialed that number and it was answered in one ring.

I spent an hour and a half w a very helpful Timothy who actually even worked on my AT&T account.

Final tally- $197.41 down to 104.41, and $45 off my AT&T bill. I have been overpaying on both accounts for over a year.

I owe you one, and I'm pretty good about being able to pay it forward when it comes to fellow Astros fans.

I'm still getting a discount from my original 24 month new customer promotion. Has anyone that is currently getting a promotional discount called and still gotten this promotion?
