The direct number 1-800-778-3397
quote:

Can you kind of summarize what I'm supposed to say?

Just tell them you heard about a discount promotion going on and want to see if there is a way to save money off of your monthly bill. They may ask you if you want to upgrade to another package, downgrade, etc. That's up to you but not required for the discount. I did not threaten to cancel at all.

I politely declined switching up my package and was immediately offered $50/month off. They do say each account is treated differently so your results may not be the same (you may get more off or less off).

Wow worked for me ! I got $50 off a month for a year and I've only been with them for a little over a year.

Yeah, I feel at this point they may no longer be calling it a "customer loyalty discount", but despite the terminology, it was still being offered as of yesterday. Just be persistent, make sure that you're talking to an American, and make it clear that you are aware of many, many people who have already received the discount, so you know that it is available.

I just called a few minutes ago and spoke to an American and got my discount with no problem in less than 5 minutes.

That seems to be the most common experience. Did you call it a customer loyalty discount?

I just said I heard y'all were offering a $50 per month discount. The guy answered on the first ring which made me skeptical at first but I logged into my account and the discount is there.

Curious if any news users are getting discounts? I’ve had DRT for years, but it was under my wife’s name. We just got new service 7 months ago under mine and only pay $35 a month after discounts and credits from ATT ($20 off a month).

I'm fairly new, been with dtv for about one year. I started with a 2 year deal for $79 discounted down from $120. Yesterday they gave me an additional $50 discount for a year so I'll be paying $29 for a supposed $120 package.

Nice work. I may call in but I don’t think I can get much more off the $35 I’m paying. I’m guessing they’d just tell me I have too many credits applied already

Maybe they'll mail you a check each month....

Its worth a call though, some posters said they got $20 discounts added which would be mathematically possible for you.

I just called twice and didn’t get anything. I’m currently under contract paying $85 a month.

ETA: Just called a third time and got the $50 off per month for 12 months. Thank you Stacey!! She sounded hot.

I would try again later today. It seems to be luck of the draw with whoever answers the phone.

Hard to believe, but my package was reduced from $66.82 per month to $16.82 per month for 12 months - plus they added the RedZone channel at no cost. Thanks OP!

Why are they so willing to lower all of our bills without putting up a fight? Most of us are already under contract and can't leave without paying a penalty.
