I quit cold turkey. Dipped all the time playing baseball in high school and college. Dipped in med school and residency. When my daughter was about 3 she was old enough to question what I was doing so I quit. Haven’t had a single dip in years and don’t miss it to be honest.

I have 1 dip left in the can. That will be the last one I ever have. How bad are the cravings?

Chantix, brah. Your insurance will pay 100% of it.

I went to the market to get a can of Copenhagen (It satisfies). Guy behind the counter rings it up. $3.06. The price went up over $3.00 because of a new tobacco tax. I said no. Quit that day. Not gonna pay three bucks for spit. I was looking for a reason to quit other than fear. You need a focal point. Mine was health and paying unnecessary tax. No withdrawals.

Sup Leon? You’re one of my favorite posters.
Best way to quit is to think about trying to kiss your wife with half a face. Then she won’t want to kiss you. You’ll be depressed and she’ll be angry. She’ll step out on you and you’ll file for divorce. You’ll fall further down your spiral of sadness and kill yourself by way of hanging. She’ll find a rich plastic surgery doctor, get new fake tits, travel the world and live happily ever after.
Good luck on kicking the habit!

This is what I did:
Began by not taking a dip an hour after I finished one for 24 hours
Then didn’t take one for 2 hours for the next 24 hours
Same as above but now every 4 hours
Same as above but every 8 hours for the past day
By the time you get to the 8 hour day, you’ll already be in withdrawals, so you’ll be ready to quit and get past the cravings and side affects... good luck!

What’s up George? I don’t think I would hang myself. Maybe shotgun to the dick though. Who knows

I dipped a can of Copenhagen a day for 15 years.
One day I got it in me to quit so I asked my dentist to write me a script for Chantix. Worked like a charm. I tell people all the time, it is not a magic pill but it is a great tool if you want to quit.
Nausea is a serious side effect. Insomnia and constipation is too. They are all better than mouth or throat cancer.
Most insurances pay for it 100%.
You will hear people tell stories of their friends that had bad psych experiences. Those are people who have heard someone who heard of someone. Real psych problems are very rare, but do occur. At it’s heart, Chantix is an antidepressant and can do weird things to your brain chemistry. Again, very rare. If you have specific questions, I would be happy to answer them.
Quit. If you can’t do it alone, get help.

I feel like if you're trying nicorette and other shite, you're not really ready. About a year ago I set out to get healthy including eating better and lifting weights. I just quit one day and haven't really had any cravings in 6-8 months. I tried all the other shite before and nothing works like making a lifestyle change.

How did you get rid of the cravings? I’m going to miss having something in my mouth all the time
Posted on 7/14/19 at 8:15 pm to Leon Spinks
Just get some nicotine gum baw. Chew that instead

I started using these a month ago to stop smoking. Haven’t had any urges to smoke since. Eventually I’ll wean myself off of this too but it’s a much better alternative to smoking for the time being.

I quit 5 or 6 years ago and still get a strong urge for it about once a month.
You have to want to quit

In all seriousness I just had my first kid and one day I was at work and thought to myself, “frick this I’m not going to get throat cancer and miss my baby getting married and having kids and all that.” Pretty much all it took. I told my wife I was quitting and quit buying it that day. Your mileage may vary.
