I haven’t really quit, mainly just do it when I’m drinking or reading.

However, my dad quit a couple years ago after 30+ years of dipping a can a day or more. He chews gum incessantly now.

Some of my baws who were semi-addicted have seemed to move to CBD gummies.

I just quit. It wasn't that hard. Had some mild cravings that went away after a week or two. That was all. The thing that made me quit was getting ulcers on my gums.

I just stopped.
Quit buying or bumming it.
Tell your dipping buddies you are done.
You’ll find you can pretty much go cold turkey.

It’s fricking impossible man. I tried countless times. Make it to day 5 or day 6 and I start right back up. I just enjoy it too much I guess. I am dipping pouches though and recently cut back from 2 pouches at a time to only one. I say I’m going to quit but I doubt I ever will. I’ll die from some type of mouth cancer eventually or I’ll die in a car accident tomorrow because some piece of shite was texting on their phone.

My doctor showed me pictures like this after my mother caught me dipping in 8th grade and brought me to him for a lecture. That’s how I quit.

It’s not that hard. I’ve quit like 5 times now.

Good luck.

Don’t tell yourself this will be the last can when you finish it.

Throw it away when it’s half full and still has “value” in the can. Then be mad for ever starting.

Man up and resist the cravings when places or events you always had a dip for, reoccur. And they will.

After about 2 years, it should all be in your rear view mirror.

Start the clock now.

All good advice.

I used nicotine gum (2mg). I only dipped about 4 pinches per day.

Gum twice per day. Always have the gum on you and if you get an urge to dip, go for the gum.

I quit once for over a year and honestly forgot dipping was even a thing. Somebody asked me if I quit dipping and I had to stop and think about it for a second to remember that I used to dip (I dipped off and on for 15 years, mostly on).

I started back after my kid was born but back “off the wagon” again. Been about a month dip free/gum free and its no big deal anymore.

Quit cold turkey. Relapsed (for lack of a better word?) and bought a can while very drunk about 1.5 years later. Haven’t touched it since (about a year)

Just tell yourself you’re stronger than something so small and insignificant.

Stay busy.

Leave it somewhere and only do it when you’re around it then slowly cut back.

Who do you know that has had their jaw removed?

Was a can a day guy. Great American Smokeout was on the news when I was eating dinner, which would ordinarily be followed immediately by a dip. They said if you can quit for a day you can quit for good.

I challenged myself to go 10 minutes without a dip. Made it and extended to 30 minutes. Shocked I made it, and kept it up until bedtime. I really thought I would start right back in the morning, but I never touched it again. So I quit cold turkey after 10 years or so, on a lark with no pre-planning.

Cold turkey, was dipping almost 2 cans of Copenhagen a day when I finally succeeded after many tries. Reached for my back pocket for a can at least a year out of habit. Still like to open a can and smell it. But I know if I took one dip I would be right back where I left off

Dump that stupid shite as fast as you can. My uncle only dipped for 6 years...he lost his entire left side of his jaw from cancer a year after he quit and survived another 3 years until it took him. My aunt still has over $450,000 in medical bills for that crap.

I decided to quit smoking on my 40th birthday. Had a half a pack left, threw them in the trash and haven't touched a cigarette since. That was almost 3 years ago. If you want to quit you can. Believe me if I can do it anybody can.
