I quit back in 2010. Just had to nut up and do it. I remember feeling free AF not having to dip or worry about bottles or if I was running out. I used lozenges if the cravings got so bad I thought I would cave

I got a few cysts in my mouth. Quit pretty easily once the thought it might be cancer kicked in. I do still dream about dippping though

I was chewing Redman for years, finally quit then went to a nascar race and bought a pack. I threw it out the window on my way to the track that day unopened, and haven't had any since then. I can't say I wouldn't like to have some on occasion, but my teeth thank me for quitting when I did. It's not easy but it can be done.

Cold turkey, and it was hard as I had literal withdrawals from it, but you can do it.
Truth be known, if a meteor had earth in it’s crosshairs and there was an eminent extinction impact in a year from today I’d buy me a roll of Copenhagen and wouldn’t give two shits what anyone thought. That was the most relaxing and enjoyable thing ever, but horrible for your gums no doubt.

Wintergreen gum and salted sunflower seeds

I made it 3 months about 2 years ago and got one dip from a buddy and that’s all it took. Guard it as you quit because damn it’s not easy. Sad thing is I was at the point I didn’t really think about it very much anymore. I’ll be in your shoes again shortly I’m hoping. Best of luck, it sucks but worth it.

switched to snus. Still tobacco and still nicotine but it's cured differently and not nearly as harmful for you, also far less trashy looking as you don't have to spit and have a cup with you all the time.
I haven't had a real dip in over 2 years, and other than that one time it was probably another year or so before that.
Granted I'm sure it would be BEST to quit smokeless tobacco altogether but at the moment I'm much happier with the snus than the grizzly.

I lost my dad to kidney cancer in February. He didn't smoke/dip or anything but seeing what the chemo did to him the last few months had me wondering why the frick I was purposely putting something in my mouth that could cause cancer and put me in a similar situation. The last dip I took was hunting on Dec 30th, 2018. I quit cold turkey and surprisingly haven't even had the urge for it since

Who do you know that has had their jaw removed?
A couple of patients of mine had advanced squamous cell carcinoma from dipping after decades of use. Partial removal of tongue, mandible and lip. Not pretty.

Why you quitting dipping? Moving up north or getting a sex change?

Cold turkey after 15 years
After I had made it about four weeks the next time I tried to cram in an eagle claw in a moment of weakness it made me sick as a dog like I had never dipped before. After that I couldn’t do it even if I wanted to.
ETA If I am on a fishing trip or in deer stand I will still chew a little or even dip a pouch but loose grains in my mouth make me want to vomit. Far cry from my 20s when I would have eaten it if it had any nutritional value.

I quit about 6 yrs ago. Used nicorette to help with the chem addiction.

Good grief, just sack up and quit.
I mean, lots of other people have.
Didn't mean this how it sounded, but sometimes you just have to say, "That's it".
I think you (OP) are there, just follow through.
Nicotine is addictive AF especially when ingested orally, but you can quit.

My boss is on nicorette also. Has been for 6 or 7 years. Says he spends more money than he ever did on Copenhagen. He gets jittery as hell and has no focus if he goes more than an hour or so without it.
