Do you have kids? These are for the baby. A 28 year old has a much better chance against whooping cough than a newborn.

I think my wife did…i know we didn’t do the first round of vaccines on the children though - well, the boys got vitamin k

They tried the Hep vaccine - i told them no…my wife didn’t have Hep C and i promised them that i would prevent my kids from doing needle drugs and sex until they were old enough to have conversations

Protection can wane over time.

Honestly you should limit the number of people period around new born babies period. If anyone has even the slightest symptoms, they should stay away. Basing visits on whether you have certain vaccines is missing the main points of limiting visits and of not going by babies if not feeling 100%

totally agree... the only people who saw my son in his first weeks-months of life were our parents and my grandparents who all got vaccinated. I don't get people who have a fricking parade of people come through their house after birth....for so many reasons

My wife got all of them but the covid shot. RSV and whooping cough can wreak havoc on a newborn/young infant.

Tdap vaccines wane over time. That's why kids get a Tdap booster for 6th grade and it's recommended adults get one as well (I think it's every 10-15 years).

Whooping cough is very rare. I plan on vaccinating my son after 2 months. He is more likely to get Covid or Flu than the whooping cough

Because Moms are getting the Tdap shot. Its an acutual vaccine. Since 2012 studies show the vaccine prevents 3 in 4 babies from getting whooping cough.

There is less than 30 thousand cases in the US per year. I understand taking the shot, but the amount appears excessive

Well, sure compared to the Flu or COVID.

But it’s not that “rare”. As recently as December, Suffolk County (NY) had a health alert over 108 cases in their school system. Public Health Alert

We had a breakout in a school I worked in a few years back, which is when I got boosted.

Classic risk management - intervention has been effective, therefore it's no longer worth it.

Because she's pregnant! Did they inform you of the short and long term health safety risks for fetuses?

I’m just saying just bc they are “vaccinated” doesn’t mean they aren’t a threat. If they don’t have symptoms currently and haven’t recently recovered from sickness should be the conditions.
