Did your wife get vaccinations during pregnancy?

All the links I can find recommended Tdap and RSV vaccines toward the end of pregnancy. Haven't asked the OB yet, but I assume it'll get brought up in an appointment when it's time. Did your wife get them, and did you get them as the dad too?

I got them. Why would she not?

wife did both. i didnt. things seem to be going fine so far but baby is only a week and a half.
i might get downvoted for this with how on edge everyone is about vaccine shite, idk, but with how rough rsv seems to be on babies your wife getting that one at minimum is probably good. I dont even know what tdap is.

yes...TDAP is really important. I had any family members who planned to visit us and the new baby get up to date TDAP as well

Tdap is the vaccine for diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus. Pertussis is whooping cough and super dangerous for babies.
If your wife’s OB recommends it, I’d get both being around a baby.

Yes I did because I loved my unborn baby. These vaccinations aren’t the same as the Covid MRNA stuff. Get the shots.

I did TDAP during. I don’t think the RSV one was developed until recently so don’t know what the details are on that.
ETA: both got TDAP

I got a TDAP vaccine in the 3rd trimester. I believe my OB brought it up around 25-27 weeks to put it on my radar. They didn’t do them in office, so I had to go to a CVS.
My husband was supposed to, but I don’t think he ever did.
ETA we didn’t really require visitors to have a TDAP because we barely had visitors. This was in 2020 during the height of COVID bullshite.

This was my next question. I've been around a bunch of friends' newborns lately but was never asked if I was up to date on anything. I didn't know if that was a thing too, but I'll keep it in mind

I didn’t get Tdap during pregnancy bc mine was up to date - when #4 was born there was a resurgence of pertussis so I had gotten it then

I had TDAP and we made sure everyone who was in contact early on had TDAP too (I think everyone was up to date). I got an early TDAP booster because my PCP said there was no harm to doing so.
ETA: We didn't really ask friends/neighbors because it was already cold/flu/RSV season and we weren't letting anyone around anyway (see below). But we made sure our parents/our siblings/our nanny/etc. were up to date.
I didn't get RSV but would have. Wife didn't get it because she went early.
Now that I've spent 11 nights on a PICU sofa while my wife was down the hall in a different PICU room for 14 nights - I'd highly recommend taking whatever RSV options they offer.

I named my BBC "Vaccinations".

My son caught RSV at the hospital just after being born. That was a scary week for us. I’d like to think I’d take the RSV shot next time around, assuming my doc would recommend.

We both got Tdap for the 1st pregnancy, the next 2 were within the timeframe where we wouldn't need them. Don't recall if wife got the RSV one, I did not. We also both got the flu vaccines; this was the 1st time for my wife since college, and my 3rd or 4th time since college. We now plan to do flu annually at least until the sponges are out of elementary school.

I mainly asked the people who I knew would be spending considerable time and wanting to hold the baby a lot, i.e. the grandparents. Everyone else I kinda just waited awhile to have over and let them hold him
