First truck did not have AC or power steering. Driving it around was a workout. Impossible to drive it in traffic in summer in La without breaking a sweat.
Always lived in houses with AC.

i think age has a lot to do with the answers.
if you're 21, it's probably hard to find a car with no ac.
if you grew up in the 60s-70s cars with ac were not as common and were more expensive.

Grandparents had an attic fan to keep air flowing, but the did get window units.
My first vehicle did not have a/c. It was always fun driving home after football practice in the summer.

It's amazing how cool an attic fan would get things at night. First car had it, and it had a manual transmission. That was a fun car to drive.

Yes, we had window units AC. I don’t remember being hot, I do remember running attic fans when it was nice out, those mornings were glorious
No to the AC in my first truck. Never an issue while moving.

My first car didn’t have an AC. I couldn’t imagine that now but didn’t care so much then.
Worse than the Texas heat though, was a sleet storm after the defroster went out. Made the mistake of driving home from college thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal.

No AC, attic fan. After I graduated and moved out dad installed full HVAC in house. (South Louisiana)

It’s hot as hell in the South right now. I know I’m old but I felt like I was melting just leaving the office and walking to my truck today.
I don’t remember crying this much when I was on Fort Benning during the mid to high 90 temps 15-20 years ago
