Did you go down Frenchtown Rd in High School?

With Halloween just around the corner, I was telling my kids about how we would go down to Frenchtown Rd back in the day to go try and see the devil worshipers.
We'd drive out at night, stop under the bridge and cut the car off, freak out what ever girls we took out there, and haul arse out. This was a common thing we heard about form the older kids, but we never saw any hudu/voodoo, dead goats, texas chainsaw massacres, or the boogie man.
Curious does anyone have any REAL stories or was everything just high school folklore?

I think every town had some rumored area where the "devil worshipers" hung out. I never recall anyone ever actually seeing them.

If so, affirmative.

Had a bunch of friends who lived off Frenchtown. That was one of our regular HS drinking spots in the 90's. We'd leave there and go play pool at Froggy's at Morgan Road and Greenwell Springs, or go make a bonfire behind DEMCO.

For us, it was Sand Hill Graveyard road. We would go to the cemetery and people would supposedly see ghost or their cars wouldn't start etc.

I lived in Bedico in the 90s, people came to us and thought we were the devil worshipers.

No devil worshipers but know a guy who hit an Emu with a bat. Had it on the grill when the cops showed up. The feet in the bed of the truck didn't help the story out.

Swan Lake Rd in Bossier. It was called JuJu road, after the name of the man supposedly haunting it.

In the New Orleans area, it was the fabled Grunch Road, which no one knew where it was, but always knew someone who went there and saw devil worshipers. Or there was a half goat half human cryptid that would attack the unsuspecting.
I grew up in Kenner by the Lake. There was a line of trees between the lake and the levee. As kids, we'd go exploring in those trees, and would often find mutilated animals, pentagrams spray painted, candles, and all kinds of other shite people would associate with devil worship.

Seems like the devil worshippers and quicksand were bigger problems when I was a kid

Yes. The train tracks was where it got scary.
Going way back on Hoo Shoo Too and the side streets back there is a little “Deliverance” like feeling.

If you're talking early 90's, we probably know each other.
