there was a couple of huge blunders but they put forward an excellent case...it didn't matter what they did, black jurors was owed dey reparations in the form of an acquittal

Perfect storm for how to lose a case.

Poor policing
Dream team defense
racial tension going on
Judge in over his head

Prosecution was set up to fail but they also didnt do themselves any favors by letting defense bully them on jury selection. That is where the case was ultimately lost.

It seemed like LAPD attempted to frame a guilty man...

That picture of the verdict being announced sums it up. It became a national contest between black and white. My buddies wife taught at an inner city school here in Baton Rouge. The verdict came out during school hours and the black female principal got on the PA and screamed NOT GUILTY during classes. All the black teachers and students started dancing in the halls and throwing papers, etc. She said she felt like she needed to lock herself in her room at that point. Celebrating the acquittal of a murderer because of the color of his skin. You know OJ was laughing his arse off inside.

I've been watching the American Crime Story series, so my "facts" on the case might be skewed by Ryan Murphy drama. However, the episode I last watched (second to last of the series), Fuhrman was asked outright if he planted or manufactured evidence for this case specifically, and he pleaded the fifth. Lots of things like that seemed to make it pretty impossible for a juror to look past.

And instead of trying to support and get closer to the community that basically gave him an unwarranted second chance, he went off the deep end, turned into a thug, and is in prison now. I think I read that he is eligible to get out this year on parole.

The prosecutors were horrible but, Judge Ito was the one who blew the case. He excluded very damning evidence which included victims blood all over the drivers side door of the Bronco. Ito excluded the blood because he thought it was prejudicial.

Furman hurt credibility and the defense as ready for everything they had. Plus the racist jurors didn't help. They all voted not guilty just to go home

Prosecution did a good job.

Legal dream team put on a clinic.

From jury selection to smoke and mirrors to boring them with so many forensic experts to running out a villain (Furhman) to distract people to that glove bullshite. A weathered and beaten up dry leather glove being placed over a latex glove and then the tag line by Cochran

Having Furman lead the investigation was the equivalent of having Mike Erwin lead a murder investigation in BR right now.

Dream team manipulated Ito the entire trial as well.

Lol, not trying to be but its true. Whether or not he is racist or not, doesnt really matter. Perception is reality.

I can't remember where I saw the explanation for this, but on one of the oj docs they stated that Furman pleaded the 5th for something else, but once you please the 5th, you can't answer anything else. The defense recognized this and asked about planting evidence knowing he would have to continue to exercise his 5th amendment.

I believe evidence was planted, but Furman wasn't trying to hide anything by pleading the 5th.

LINK

Here is an article basically explaining it. And the juror wasn't even there when it happened, though it is certain they heard about it.

Yes, they put him on the stand to ask him about the tapes that were recorded of him for a book that was being written. He made several comments that confirmed him as a racist and an unethical officer. He plead the fifth to prevent incriminating himself, so the prosecution asked him if he practiced the same unethical behavior in this case. He had no choice but to plead the fifth and it looked really really bad.

other than Darden getting sucked into the glove trap

It was well known OJ had arthritis in his hands. He took medication to reduce the swelling in his knuckles. He was advised to stop taking the medicine weeks before he had to try on the glove. Add a latex glove and a swollen hand to the mix and of course it won't fit.

Very much so.

Read the comments of the guy who put Manson away.

These prosecutors were more concerned with being rock stars. Even the judge gave interviews.
