A better question is if the allies could have won the war without Soviet intervention on the eastern front.
Yes but it would have taken a lot longer and at a much bigger sacrifice.

Germany had better technology, USSR had the manpower.
It wasn't just the Russians, pretty much all of Eastern Europe and Central Asia were apart of the Soviet Union.

Hitler also ignored Napoleon’s mistake. Don’t march on Moscow in the fall and winter.

The Nazi leadership put resources into traditional weapons and even considering fighting russia they barely funded the program their program and they also took a few wrong turns (depending on heavy water vs graphite)
also the Germans lacked oil and got a ton from territory they took from USSR before being pushed back.

The Soviets without the US and England shipping through the Arctic passages would have been crushed. The tonnage of supplies shipped was massive. Greenland anyone?

Seems to be that they were spread thin with the war on both fronts and they were not able to keep producing what they needed to continue.
Factor in the Americans supplying the Soviet Union, and I don’t think they stood any chance of winning.
The German’s tactic was to hit hard and fast. Any stall, and they didn’t have enough resources.

Had Hitler turned the panzers loose at Dunkirk they would have slaughtered the British Expeditionary Army on the beaches. He also made a huge mistake in taking Goering’s advice that AirPower alone would defeat England without an invasion.
Had he defeated England, there goes the staging area for the eventual invasion of France.

Not a chance
1). Hitler invaded first and made the war about exterminating the Slavs and giving lands to ethnic Germans. This made the war a do or die situation for the USSR which happened to outnumber Germany in population and resources.
2). Nazi Germany was an unstable dictatorship that only thrived off of conquering and pillaging. Once the conquering and pillaging stalled, so did the government, the economy, and the military.
3). Americans have forgotten how scary the USSR was- The Germans attacked when they did because it was the most optimal time and it still ended up with Ivan’s in Berlin. In 1939, the USSR had more people and resources than continental France, UK, and Germany combined. At some point, the USSR was going to be an unstoppable machine but Germany sacrificed itself for Europe to injure Russia. If WW2 never happened, Europe would be speaking Russian today.

Patton said we should have helped Germany after he realized what commie shitbags were running the Soviet Union.

Germany had all of this and struck first and were taking the belt to arse from Ivan before D-Day happened. The USSR was simply too strong for Germany to handle.

Yes I learned in World History class that one of Hitlers mistakes was not taking England

In The Great War, Germany repeatedly slaughtered the Russians in battle after battle. Didn't matter how they killed, Russia would just throw another army at them.

Scharnhorst
Tirpitz
Gneisenau
Bismarck
Graf Spee
Print Eugen
Just to name a few. Not exactly tug boats.
The E boats that ranged free in the Channel. The U boats that were sinking everything they could find.

The German Empire was a well oiled machine that took the whole world to defeat. Nazi Germany was basically this year’s Alabama’s team. A chaotic failed state trying to relive the glory the days.
