Read something this morning about record numbers of 401k holders bailing out of stocks in the last few days.

Not smart.

Anyone who regularly/consistently invests in the market in a balanced portfolio over the long term will do very well. Even moreso if you keep some dry powder to invest at opportune times (like the one was just saw, and which happen with regularity).*

It's not rocket surgery and it's not a strategy that is only accessible by the rich. You're not a victim.

*ETA: And don't panic sell like a moron

That would be the all time biggest stock manipulation if there was something to this. I am speaking hypothetically, but that would be insane.

I went 100% stocks. Paid off well.

I don't normally day trade my retirement accounts, but the drop last week was just too enticing.

I don't normally do anything with my Inherited IRA, just let it sit and take the RMD, but I did enjoy researching, reading the Money Board and moving things around from what my Grandmother had invested it all in over the last few weeks. Been fun.

You didn't explain yourself either. I'll give you another opportunity.

I'm not soft. I want to learn from you.

Interesting, markets can go up and down.

Buy the dip and sell high.

No, not in the stock market in any way and I like it like that.

Have fun having a fraction of the net worth you would have had in retirement.

Yeah, the average person can't do that, and that includes 90% of this board even though everyone tries to act rich here.

If you're right, that's a shame.

There were two options.

You could the Uncle Donnie and cry and talk about how he is screwing everything up

Orrrrrrrrr

Buy low and make lots of money

But whatever, guess hating uncle Donnie is easier

That is just my brokerage account that is "fun money"

Haven't looked at retirement stuff. Got 25-30 years before I can start thinking about retirement. Don't want to know
