Living by a donut shop does tend to lower the chances of crime though, simply by altering potential response times.

Its in Addis, its a small town, pretty much everything is across the street from the police station. And considering they only have 3 or 4 deputies (all not on duty all the time), I don't think the location of the police station plays any type of factor.. Especially considering.. From what I have heard in the past, there have been at least 2 or 3 cases (2 murder cases for sure) in which the Addis police completely messed up a crime scene.
But to be fair, as mentioned, it is a very small police department with a small budget so their officers have minimum training.
Awhile back I started a thread about whether or not small towns/villages with small police departments should be eliminated and when parishes allocate its funds, instead of giving money to these small departments, it can go to the sheriffs department and they could hire one or two more, better trained deputies and assign them to cover that area.
But that's a story for another day.
