Lovelsu,
You are in my thoughts. Unfortunatly, I have no medical experience to offer. Please know there are folks pulling for you.

I wouldn't waste a minute that could be better spent with loved ones on a Holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am sorry I did not respond sooner but I just noticed the thread bump.
We went to MD Anderson last week. The facilities were impressive but their prognosis and treatment plan were the same as my local oncologist. As it is becoming more uncomfortable for me to be in a car for long periods (especially on LA highways) I have decided to be treated by my Lafayette oncologist.
Start chemo on Monday. Will have chemo every 2 weeks, after 5 treatments we will do a new scan to see if the tumor has reduced. Best scenario is it will shrink it enough where surgery is an option.
Thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.
Will keep everyone updated as things progress.

So good to hear from you. You have been in my prayers (though sometimes it takes me a couple of seconds to precisely recall your rather mundane screen name!
)
Best wishes and prayers as always
Keep fighting, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the update.
This is a book that has been recommended to me by several people I know who were battling cancer. It was a very interesting read, I recommend it to everyone I meet who is concerned about their health, fighting cancer themselves, or knows someone with cancer.

Lost my Dad at the age of 63 last year 2 weeks before Christmas. Can't do holidays right now it hurts so bad. Man. I'm praying big time for you and I don't even know who you are. I pray that this fricking cancer you have don't take your life And leave your loved ones feeling like I am right now.

Mayo Clinic. In Rochester not Jacksonville. I forgot the surgeon's name but I'll look tomorrow when I get in to work. He's done some done some surgeries on patients with fairly advanced panc cancer and had good outcomes.

I'm very very sorry for you and your family. Hope you all are dealing as best as possible with such awful news.
You have the opportunity now to live your life like never before over the days to come, and to fully live much more than any of us will ever know.
Prayers and thoughts to you and your family

I have a (male) cousin who is three years into treatment at UAB in Birmingham.
If you want to talk to him, email me at tobelikehim_ministries@yahoo.com and I will try to put you together with him. I am certain he can answer all of your questions from the patient's point of view.
In the meantime you will become a part of my prayer list.
