Why does she need to extend it to 5/16 right now? Can’t she wait until 5/1 and take it from there?

Especially since nola numbers have been declining.

There shouldn't be zero chance. Any decision at a local level like that should be made much closer to the date.

The numbers will fall off a cliff in 2 weeks.

It's premature. She shouldn't be making this decision for at least another 10 days

Broome has to make her move next. She'll likely go May 23rd to one-up Latoya.

We got a genius here folks

So you are actually now arguing we shouldn't open up even after we have ZERO new cases?

You can lift the stay at home order without going to 100.

Dumb as hell to make this call right now. We will have a lot more data in a week or two and the data will almost certainly continue to trend in the direction necessary to lift restrictions.

OH MY GOD.

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO STUPID.

NO ONE WANTS TO RE-OPEN EVERYTHING TO BE THE SAME AS IT WAS BEFORE. NO ONE SERIOUSLY THINKS WE SHOULD GO 100 MPH ON DAY 1.

Also thinks there are two options. He thinks this thing is binary.

We're apparently either shut down or COMPLETELY OPEN like we were before.

Why can't people understand the presence of a hybrid model? We can still social distance, practice good hygiene, and isolate vulnerable people. We can still work from home when possible. We can still restrict capacity in businesses. We can still not have concerts and sporting events with fans.

Almost all of the shite that is working now is still possible to do with businesses be re-opened.
