Give up my deposit or go anyway. I don’t mind the rain but don’t want to go on vacation to rough through a tropical storm, no power, etc at the beach.

What’s it looking like?

I’m in the same boat, except I’m headed to Ocean Springs. Headed out as we speak!

Several years ago we went with a tropical storm approaching. Hit rain in Pensacola, never lost power and the worst of the storm was the next day. It was a pretty cool experience, the beach was completely under water and the next day was back to normal. A day and a half of relaxing and drinking in the condo and watching mother nature's force was surprisingly enjoyable

Despite all the meteorological threads on this board, I am pretty well convinced that the “scientists” just throw darts at a board marked “rain” / “no rain” and make the rest up. Last time I cancelled a trip because of “”100% rain chance with flooding” the weekend was beautiful at my destination AND rained at home despite 0% chance for rain at home.

Go to the beach. Worst case scenario, hang out in the condo, drink beer and play cards.

I would go still. Enjoy the view and you may get some rain breaks to enjoy the beach.

Bunker down and relax and read/watch tv. Spend quality time with family

We stayed in OB with a storm 150 miles offshore. Storm didn’t have much rain but the win was pumping. We played Lost Key in 30 mph winds and it sucked

Maybe the waves will be like they used to be back in the 90s.

First I've heard about a tropical storm. OT comes through with the breaking news again.

I'd still go. It's cool to watch weather come into the beach, and then watch idiots walking on the beach get knocked over by the wind. Flying umbrellas, blow up rafts, etc. It's fun. If you get scared, just roll down the hurricane screens

I'd rather die at the beach than the marsh.
