Nelson left the room then I think wanted another sidebar. Asked for a delay.

Odd question with the times, like someone mentioned earlier, Chauvin looks completely different without the mask. Could he demand to not wear one as to let the jury see him as more relatable and personable?

The defendants demeanor always plays into how a jury feels, facial expressions are a huge part of that.

Part of the state/prosecution making him wear the mask is because it dehumanizes him and makes the jury not even see a person sitting there.

Since there now is the appearance of the judge being favoring the prosecution, what can Nelson do?

reinforces what I've said in every divorce/custody thread we've ever had, the weak link is always the judge

That seemed like a weird way to go to recess.

I wonder if Nelson is going to ask for a continuation to get Dr. Fowler back.

The live blog on the legal insurrection site thinks that they went into chambers really quick.

Nelson mentioned (during the discussion before the jury entered) that his witness from yesterday was on a plane and unavailable to him...maybe the witness called him back just now

Judge told prosecution that their rebuttal witness could not mention the lab test results and out of the gate he starts with it. Objection...Sustained... no mistria

The witness said “arterial blood gas” test

That’s not the carbon monoxide test that the judge said couldn’t be mentioned.

Two different tests.

Nelson received news of the new evidence today.

The expert from yesterday was on a plane this morning.

He wants to talk with him.

He needs as much time as it takes.

frick the prosecution.

This is absolutely incredible. If this isn't a mistrial then why have the procedure at all? What a joke.

Nelson has solid grounds for an appeal with this

Would a mistrial be a good or bad thing for DC?

Nelson has to be extremely careful on his cross. He doesn't want to open the door to where the lab results can be brought in.

I bet Nelson is steaming pissed off by the shady arse move by the state.

It would be horrible as they can retry their case, review what they did wrong, and fix it. Plus they'll bring in the Varsity DA

I'm not exactly sure what the testimony offered today rebuts

He didn't say much

He said the studies he referenced weren't really in the medical field, which supports what the expert testified to yesterday

He didn’t mention the missing test. He talked about an arterial blood gas measurement. That’s different.

Actually we don't know what he was going to say at first because the objection quickly stopped him and the prosecutor redirected him.
