Pretty sure she works for the court, possibly a court reporter, that ensures the audio feeds are working properly during the sidebars

From experience, keeping notes and feeling like you have some control over outcome is helpful. Chance to engage with your lawyer afterward.
If your life is on the line you might want to do whatever you can. I bet the outcome matters more to Chauvin than Nelson. Let the man scribble.

Anyone have a guess on why they called this witness?

Floyd died. If I’m defense, I can make a case the delays or actions of Medical helped cause or all necessary steps not taken. For example, the minutes of delay to move him to another location.

Well it establishes when he died (i.e. didn't die in an operation or medics screwing up). Also, defense is calling him so get out in front of it.

His girlfriend, turns out her name was saved in his phone as momma, so when he was "Crying out for his mama" it was actually her.

She doesn’t do a good job getting her thoughts out.

Oh, I agree. I would be scribbling too, probably to keep myself attentive and also writing some reminders to myself of keeping demeanor, etc

Darlene from Rosanne is a spitting image.

Her name is Amy Voss and she is an attorney and Nelson’s assistant or an assistant to the police fund legal team backing Chauvin.

EMT said he's seen police on top of people before when they arrive.

What a terrible objection. Way to highlight for the jury the coming questions are terrible for your case.
Posted on 4/1/21 at 12:14 pm to threeputt
Defense: Have you responded to a call where police officers are on top of a person?
EMT: yes
Pros: objection
Judge: on what grounds
Pros: it hurts my case
