A couple of months ago, I went out to the truck at my Mom's house that has a steel roof and is surrounded by oak trees.
Even though I've heard acorns fall, one by itself sounded like a gunshot.
Disclaimer: I didn't grab my gun and start shooting.

shite, try having an open air shed with a metal roof half under a black walnut tree. During Fall it sounds like a war going on, and can scare the hell out of you.
