i think reggies had that. it was a long list with a white background and black letters. i can picture it pretty clearly in my head.

reggies really is/was a wild place and im surprised theyve been able to skate for so long without something like this happening.

it's like 25% high school kids, 25% c-word we can't say here anymore, 25% frat and srat freshmen, 25% other.

no plain t shirts, athletic attire, hoodies, and white shoes is kind of funny because that's what white kids wear now

Right it's one thing for two drunks to go home and wake up in bed with regret. A totally other for a group of guys to pick up a girl, run a train and then drop her off.
It's not the same thing. Plus there is drunk and then Drunk. She was the latter.

This is the first time I've ever seen this website unified in calling men who sleep with drunk women rapists. That's for sure.

I think a lot of it comes from people understanding that there's a difference between two people getting drunk and doing the dirty vs. what happened in this case. A BAC of .319 (or .391, I've seen both posted) and 2 dudes having their way with you in the back of a truck is entirely different than that.

People can argue those "in between" cases somewhere else, because I think it's pretty clear from the statements of the guys themselves what the situation was here.

That is a gross oversimplification of what happened here and you know it.

No, it's not. That's exactly the crime alleged.

The more extreme tragedy after is related but may not even be the fault of the guys who are accused of raping her. It's unfortunate and sad, but sounds like it was a series of unfortunate events with extreme results.

Umm, what?

I have said this is rape, I have said the perps are trash, I said Reggie’s and tigerland is a ghetto shithead, and I even specifically called out the NAACP for getting involved

Saturday I was called racist in a thread on the MSB, now I’m a NAACP lawyer on the OT

Jorts and cargo shorts were popular until Tim Teebow and Superbad respectively.

How about Ron Haley, the suspects' attorney?

quote:

“Can you tell, that she was intoxicated, yes. To the point under the law that you say you’re in a drunken stupor, to the point that you cannot lawfully give consent or answer questions, absolutely that was not the case,” said Haley.

quote:

“Absolutely not a rape. Listen this is a tragedy, definitely not a crime,” said Haley.

He says a video taken during the incident shows Madison Brooks was in a coherent state and knew what was happening the entire time.

This was not a crime?

Wow dude...

Just the fact that one of the accused recorded the sexual acts with their cell phone speaks volumes about the atmosphere in that truck

This wasn't a mutual consensual sexual experience for the people in the truck

This was a degrading sexual assault that was recorded by the suspects to send out to their other friends as a trophy for how they humiliated and defiled a helpless drunk girl

Predatory to the millionth degree

wow

She was completely incapacitated and unable to give consent and you think it wasn’t rape. It was men having sex with a woman. Disgusting

Everything you wrote. I’ve drilled the same “ Brother’s Keeper “ message into my daughter. At some point in college most girls will have a really bad drunken night. That’s when Friends must behave ethically and responsibly and take care of their friend . We must take care of young women when they are vulnerable. We all know this. Even patrons or bar staff have to vigilant-it’s so easy to casually intervene and make sure someone is ok and then observing the reaction of her and whoever is preying on her to see if it feels right. I’m sure there are a dozen people that are reliving this and questioning why they didn’t intervene. They are going to have to live with that. And really, we ALL need to take care of each other, whenever one of us is vulnerable or at risk. I did it 4 years ago at a company function, I basically carried a drunk guy a mile to his room because his GF couldn’t control him. It ended our friendship, but he’s ok and not wandering into traffic. I think almost ALL of us have had these moments. Brother’s Keeper. We have an ethical and moral responsibility for the welfare of others. One strong man intervening and she’s alive and in class .

I’m sadder about this whole affair than almost anything in recent memory. I hope her death serves some other higher purpose for good and that we begin to be more responsible and compassionate towards each other. I’m actively praying her family and friends are able to find acceptance.
